In 2027, unemployment benefits will be paid through VNeID
From 2027, social insurance benefits and unemployment benefits will be paid through social security benefit accounts on VNeID according to the roadmap of Vietnam Social Security.
From 2027, social insurance (BHXH) and unemployment insurance (BHTN) regimes will be paid through social security benefit accounts on VNeID according to the roadmap of Vietnam Social Security. People who do not meet the conditions will continue to receive money by appropriate methods, ensuring that their rights are not interrupted.
Vietnam Social Security issued Plan No. 4146/KH-BHXH on deploying the use of social security benefit accounts on the VNeID application in paying social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits.
According to the plan, in October 2026, the social insurance agency will complete professional guidance, connection plans, integration and data exchange; and at the same time review and standardize beneficiary information. In November and December 2026, the social insurance industry will complete the connection of the software system with the electronic identification system, serving management and payment of benefits.
Social security benefit accounts on VNeID allow people to integrate bank payment accounts, e-wallets or mobile money accounts to receive pensions, allowances and legal support.
People log in to the VNeID application, select the Social Security section, continue to select Social Security benefit account and authenticate as required. Then, users select the bank that has opened the account, enter personal information, the money-receiving account number and send the registration request. The results will be announced on the application.
Vietnam Social Security said that the implementation process must ensure unified information between beneficiaries, authorized recipients of benefits and social security benefit accounts. The conversion of payment methods must not disrupt the process of settling benefits or affect the legitimate rights of people.
The Social Insurance sector will also strengthen propaganda, guidance and support for people to register and use accounts; and promptly receive and handle arising difficulties and obstacles.
The implementation of payment through VNeID aims to modernize management, promote non-cash payments, improve safety, transparency and create favorable conditions for social security policy beneficiaries.
