Dong Thap Trade Union supports workers to sue and claim social insurance benefits
Dong Thap - Thanks to the Trade Union's guidance and support, 18 out of 26 workers owed social insurance have been fully refunded the remaining amount by the enterprise.
The Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that it has coordinated to guide and support 18 out of 26 workers who used to work at Chau Au Joint Stock Company (My Tho Industrial Park) who are owed or late in paying social insurance (BHXH) by businesses for a long time, affecting their maternity, sickness, social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits.
After receiving feedback from workers, (LĐLĐ) Dong Thap province coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs to resolve it. Accordingly, guide workers to carry out legal procedures, support writing applications and complete dossiers to sue businesses in court according to regulations.

Through the process of settlement, up to now, 18 employees have been fully refunded 100% of the remaining social insurance debt by Chau Au Joint Stock Company. Two other cases have received written commitments from businesses on completing the payment of the remaining social insurance debt in November. The remaining six cases have not filed lawsuits with the Court, so the business has not yet remedied the social insurance debt.
According to the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation, the above results show that employees proactively using legal tools, with the support of the Trade Union organization, can contribute to effectively protecting their legitimate rights and interests.

In addition to supporting the resolution of specific cases, trade union levels in Dong Thap province continue to promote legal advice and assistance for union members, workers, and laborers. In the third quarter of 2026 alone, trade union levels in the province provided legal advice to 365 turns of union members and laborers. From the beginning of the year to date, the total number of counseling turns is 3,162, of which the Legal Consulting Office of the Provincial Labor Federation directly provided 39 counseling turns.
This activity contributes to helping workers understand and use legal regulations correctly to protect their rights, and at the same time build harmonious and stable labor relations in industrial zones and clusters in the area.
