Khanh Hoa considers establishing a Industrial Park Trade Union
Khanh Hoa - The project to establish a Industrial Park Trade Union is proposed to meet the requirements of caring for and protecting workers in the new situation.
On September 30, leaders of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation said that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation had just submitted for opinions to the Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and provincial organizations on considering and approving the Project to establish the Industrial Park Trade Union.
Accordingly, Khanh Hoa used to have a trade union organization performing the task of managing and directing trade union activities in industrial parks.
In the process of arranging the trade union organizational structure according to the general policy, this model was dissolved, and the task of managing and directing grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) in industrial parks was transferred to the Provincial Labor Federation.
Currently, the Industrial Park Trade Union Board is managing 79 grassroots trade unions, with 24,562 union members out of a total of 28,206 workers in industrial parks and clusters.
However, along with the rapid development of industrial parks, businesses and the workforce, the requirement to grasp the situation, support and solve labor relations issues is increasing.
In the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050, Khanh Hoa province plans 20 industrial parks. Of which, 5 parks have been put into operation, 5 parks are under construction, 6 parks are proposed by investors and 4 parks are calling for investment.
The project identifies that labor relations in industrial parks are increasingly diverse, in which issues of employment, wages, working conditions, labor safety, disputes, strikes and security and order may arise.
Therefore, a trade union focal point is needed directly in the area to promptly grasp the situation, support and coordinate to resolve arising cases.
According to the project, the Industrial Park Trade Union is a trade union directly above the grassroots level, directly under the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation, with legal status, seal and separate account as prescribed.
Having the function and task of protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; guiding and supporting grassroots trade unions in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements; proactively grasping the business situation, jobs and lives of workers.
According to regulations, the Provisional Executive Committee of the Industrial Park Trade Union is expected to have 15 members, the Standing Committee 5 members and the Inspection Committee 5 members.
The Industrial Park Trade Union is expected to be staffed with 5-7 full-time officials.
When established, the Industrial Park Trade Union is expected to manage grassroots trade union activities in Thanh Hai, Phuoc Nam, Du Long, Suoi Dau, Ninh Thuy Industrial Parks, Dien Phu Industrial Cluster, Dak Loc and industrial parks formed and put into operation in the near future.
