The Fund for the Poor supports building new houses for elderly single women in Da Nang
Da Nang - The Fund for the Poor supports building a new house for a 75-year-old single woman who is a poor household in Thang Dien commune.
On October 25th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thang Dien commune (Da Nang City) said - it has just organized the acceptance and handover of a great solidarity house to Ms. Ho Thi Nhuong (75 years old, residing in Binh Tu village), who is a poor household, single person, and in difficult circumstances.
For many years, Ms. Nhuong has lived in a temporary house that is degraded and unsafe, especially when the rainy and storm season comes. With her old age and economic difficulties, building a solid home is her great desire.
After more than 2 months of construction, the new 50m2 house has been completed, including a living room, bedroom, kitchen and solid concrete items to serve storm shelter.
The total construction cost is more than 180 million VND. Of which, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thang Dien commune supported 80 million VND from the Fund for the Poor, and the rest was contributed by the family and children.
The new solid house helps the 75-year-old woman have a safer place to live, reducing worries every time storms come.
