On October 23, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Da Nang, beginning an official visit to Vietnam from October 24-26, at the invitation of Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
The traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Poland is built on a long-standing historical foundation, political trust and substantive cooperation. As one of the European countries that soon established diplomatic relations with Vietnam (February 4, 1950), Poland is also one of Vietnam's most important trading partners in the Middle Eastern European region. Bilateral turnover has maintained steady growth over the years, especially after the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect.
In an interview with a VNA reporter, Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai stated clearly that the visit to Vietnam by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk takes place in the context that Vietnam-Poland relations are in a very good stage and have favorable conditions to develop to a new height. The visit creates opportunities to promote economic - trade and investment cooperation in a substantive direction, improve market access conditions and remove barriers to goods of the two countries.
The two sides can take advantage of this opportunity to expand cooperation space to high value-added fields such as digital technology, green energy, quantum technology and high-quality human resource training; thereby promoting complementary strengths, strengthening business connections and creating a foundation for sustainable development of Vietnam - Poland economic, scientific and technological relations.
Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland, Head of the Delegation to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, Joanna Skoczek, said that the visit to Vietnam by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk this time aims to identify and affirm the areas with the greatest prospects for cooperation between the two countries, which are education, trade, cooperation at international forums, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
Ms. Joanna Skoczek also said that some important documents will also be signed during the visit, contributing to strengthening the legal basis for relations between the two countries.
