Friendly Polish Prime Minister takes photos with tourists in Hoi An
Da Nang - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk happily shook hands, took photos with tourists and commemorated the compatriot architect who made many contributions to Hoi An heritage.
On October 24, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and a high-level delegation visited Hoi An ancient town, Da Nang City.
Welcoming the delegation were Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and representatives of local authorities.
Strolling through the ancient streets, Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited the Temple of the Bridge, Cam Pho communal house, Guangdong Assembly Hall and enjoyed traditional art performances.
Notably, a large number of people and tourists gathered on both sides of the road to welcome the delegation. The Polish Prime Minister happily shook hands, chatted and took souvenir photos with everyone. The close moments of the Polish leader created a friendly atmosphere in the heart of the Old Quarter.
A significant highlight of the visit was the ceremony where Prime Minister Donald Tusk laid flowers to commemorate Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski (1944-1997), affectionately called Kazik by the people of Hoi An.

Mr. Kazik is a person who has made many contributions to research and preservation of Hoi An ancient town, My Son temple and tower area and relics in Hue.
His efforts made an important contribution to the journey to bring Hoi An and My Son to UNESCO recognition as World Cultural Heritage in 1999.
To show gratitude to the Polish architect, in 2007, the Hoi An government built a park, placing his bust statue right in the center of the Old Quarter.
The image of the Polish Prime Minister commemorating his compatriot in Hoi An also evokes the special imprint of Vietnam-Poland friendship in the journey of preserving cultural heritage.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Da Nang on the evening of October 23, beginning his official visit to Vietnam from October 24-26 at the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
The visit is expected to contribute to promoting cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
