Accelerate cooperation in building railway lines connecting Vietnam - China
The National Assembly Chairwoman requested the two sides to strengthen exchanges and exchanges between people's organizations, and promote friendly propaganda about Vietnam-China relations.
Within the framework of the official visit to China and co-chairing the second session of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Chinese National People's Congress, on the afternoon of October 11, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Politburo Standing Committee Member, Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference of China Wang Huing, according to VNA.
At the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the important and comprehensive developments of Vietnam-China relations in the past time, in which political trust is increasingly strengthened; the exchange and cooperation relationship between legislative bodies, Fatherland Front organizations, and the Political Consultative Conference of the two countries is increasingly deep and reliable; substantive cooperation in various fields has achieved many new breakthroughs; and people-to-people exchanges are vibrant and rich.
To further consolidate the 3 political, material, and social foundations of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the coming time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed that the two sides continue to promote and maintain high-level and all-level exchanges, promote defense and security cooperation, support the cause of development and enhance the role and international position of the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wished the two sides to strengthen the effective implementation of cooperation in economy - trade, investment, strengthen cohesion, bring practical benefits to the people, focusing on accelerating cooperation in building railway lines connecting the two countries and international intermodal transport; further opening up the market for Vietnamese agricultural products; creating clearer changes in science and technology, and effectively implementing the Vietnam - China Tourism Cooperation Year.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also requested the two sides to further promote the particularly important role of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese National People's Political Consultative Conference in consolidating the foundation of people's will; strengthening exchanges and interactions between people's organizations of the two countries; and promoting friendly propaganda about Vietnam-China relations.
Highly appreciating and agreeing with the cooperation proposals of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference Vuong Ho Ninh requested the two sides to continue to promote synchronous cooperation on all channels and levels, well implement high-level exchange plans; promote well the 3+3 Strategic Dialogue mechanisms of diplomacy - defense - public security and the Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee; strengthen cooperation in theoretical exchange and experience on Party building and national governance; further promote the connection of high-quality development strategies between the two countries, accelerate railway projects connecting the two countries; promote cooperation in trade, investment, smart border gates, border economic cooperation zones, science - technology, artificial intelligence, digital economy, green economy to soon achieve specific progress.
Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning affirmed that China is ready to create more favorable conditions for importing Vietnamese agricultural products and support Chinese businesses to increase investment in Vietnam; The National People's Political Consultative Conference of China values and supports friendly exchanges between the people of the two countries, especially the young generation; proposed that the two sides well implement people-to-people exchange programs such as the Red Journey; well organize the China-Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Year, expand cooperation in tourism, education, culture, and local exchanges.
The two sides also agreed to coordinate more closely in multilateralism, support each other to successfully organize the Year of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2026 and 2027; better control and resolve disagreements, contributing to maintaining peace and stability at sea and in the region.
Previously, immediately after arriving in Beijing to begin an official visit to China, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visited and surveyed the Nam Ma Phong legislative liaison point in Trieu Duong district; attended a seminar to exchange experiences with the Beijing People's Congress at 3 levels.
