Our Party has been trained and increasingly mature, strong, worthy of its role and mission of leading the revolution and the trust and expectations of the people.
On February 3, 1930 in Jiuzhaigou (Hong Kong, China), chaired by Comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc, the Conference on the Reunification of Three Communist Organizations in Vietnam took place, agreeing to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam.
This historic event ended the crisis of the direction and organization of the Vietnamese revolution, opening a new era in the history of our country - the era of fighting for national independence and moving towards socialism.
Within just 15 years of its birth, our Party has continuously developed and led the struggle for national liberation, making the victory of the August Revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945, abolishing the feudal half-land regime in Vietnam, opening a new chapter in the history of the nation. The Vietnamese people, from their slavery status, have become masters of the country, of society and their own lives.
Right after the success of the August Revolution, our country had to simultaneously face "famine, warlord and foreign invaders". In that situation, the Party has led our people to resolutely protect and build a young government, while actively preparing in all aspects for the resistance war against French colonialism.
With the right guidelines and promoting the strength of the entire nation, the Party led our people to the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, forcing the French colonialists to sign the Geneva Agreement (in 1954) on peace in Indochina.
More than 20 years later, our country has been divided and there is no peace. Under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, our people overcame countless hardships and sacrifices, carried out the great resistance war, defeated the war strategies of the American empire, completely liberated the South, and unified the country.
After the country was unified, the Party continued to lead the entire army and people to both strive to restore the socio-economy, improve the lives of the people, and resolutely fight to hold on to every sacred land of the Fatherland, protect independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Faced with new requirements in national development, our Party has set out and implemented a comprehensive national renewal guidelines, marking an important turning point on the path to socialism in Vietnam. The emergence of the renovation roadmap demonstrates the steadfastness and creative thinking of the Communist Party of Vietnam and opens a new period for the development of the country.
After 40 years of implementing the renovation process under the leadership of the Party, our country has overcome all difficulties, reaching great achievements of historical significance. From a country devastated by war, surrounded and isolated, Vietnam has now become a developing country with average income, deeply and widely integrated into world politics, the global economy, and human civilization, taking on many international responsibilities.
In particular, breaking the wind, GDP growth in 2025 will reach 8.02%, the average period will reach 6.3%, among the highest in the region and the world. The scale of the economy increased from 346 billion USD (2020) to 514 billion USD (2020), ranked 32nd in the world; GDP per capita reached more than 5,000 USD, putting Vietnam in the group of high-middle-income countries (completing one of the major milestones set by the 13th National Party Congress). Maintain 10 consecutive years of over-exports (in 2025, over-exports will be over 21 billion USD).
Tourism recovered strongly, in 2025 welcoming over 21.5 million international visitors. The state-owned enterprise sector continues to play a key role; the private economy has clearly risen, being "the most important driving force of the national economy" as in the spirit of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
FDI continues to be a bright spot, with 185 billion USD registered for the 2021-2025 period, disbursement in 2025 reaching 27.62 billion USD, the highest in 5 years, reflecting the confidence of international investors, while posing a requirement to improve the quality and effectiveness of growth.
The strategic infrastructure system has a breakthrough development; many projects in transportation, energy, logistics, services, healthcare, education, digital infrastructure, large-scale, synchronous, modern urban infrastructure are focused on being built, completed, highly connected, and spreading, creating new development space.
The social security policy has been comprehensively and consistently implemented with a high spending rate (17% of total budget expenditure) to "not leave anyone behind"; early completion of the goal of eliminating temporary housing, strongly developing social housing (334,000 houses, social housing, more than 100,000 apartments in 2025), rapid reduction of multidimensional poverty rate (only 1.3%), affirming the State's consistent priority for people, especially the disadvantaged and social justice.
In education and health, many policies of long-term significance have been implemented, from exempting and supporting tuition fees, building more schools, increasing investment in education in disadvantaged and border areas, to strengthening the health system, both resolving long-standing backlogs and preparing a foundation for improving the quality of comprehensive public health care. Environmental protection, resource management and climate change adaptation are valued.
In the face of increasingly extreme natural disasters, the unified direction from the Central to the grassroots level and the mobilization of both the State budget and social resources have helped to minimize damage, soon stabilize life and restore production, clearly demonstrating the role of creativity, responsibility and humanity of the State and the Government.
The great achievements of the Vietnamese revolution stem from many factors, in which the correct and wise leadership of the Party is the leading decisive factor, along with the solidarity of the entire people and army. Through the process of revolutionary leadership, our Party has been trained and increasingly mature, strong, worthy of its role and mission of leading the revolution and the trust and expectations of the people.
That reality has affirmed: in Vietnam, there is no other political force other than the Communist Party of Vietnam with the capacity, bravery, intelligence, experience and prestige to lead the country to overcome all difficulties and challenges, bringing the revolutionary cause of our nation from one victory to another.
