Mr. Le Minh Hung elected Prime Minister
At the First Session, the 16th National Assembly passed a Resolution electing Mr. Le Minh Hung to hold the position of Prime Minister for the term 2026-2031.
On April 7, continuing the First Session, under the direction of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the 16th National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work.
At the meeting, the President presented the list of nominations for the National Assembly to elect the Prime Minister. The National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the list to elect the Prime Minister by electronic voting system.
After that, the National Assembly elects the Prime Minister by secret ballot. The National Assembly Standing Committee submits to the National Assembly a draft Resolution to elect the Prime Minister.
With 495/495 National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) participating in the vote in favor, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to elect Mr. Le Minh Hung to the position of Prime Minister.
New Prime Minister Le Minh Hung was born on December 11, 1970; native of Tu My commune, Ha Tinh province.
