General Secretary To Lam elected as President
At the First Session, the 16th National Assembly elected General Secretary To Lam to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the term 2026-2031.
On April 7, at the First Session, under the direction of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the National Assembly conducted personnel work under its authority.
With 495/495 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor (100%), the National Assembly passed the Resolution on the election of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the term 2026 - 2031 for General Secretary To Lam. This Resolution takes effect from the date the National Assembly votes to pass it.
General Secretary, President To Lam was born on July 10, 1957; hometown Nghia Tru commune, Hung Yen province.
