Thai Nguyen builds model for elderly care in the community
Thai Nguyen province is building a model of a library and community cultural activity center, taking care of the health of the elderly in communes and wards.
On April 7, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to deploy plans for arranging and handling public assets in the province.
Including the content of building a library model associated with community cultural activity centers and elderly health care centers in communes and wards.
Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Health, and Departments of Education and Training are assigned to develop pilot model plans in localities and mobilize resources for implementation.
People's Committees of communes and wards propose plans to arrange locations for building libraries, community cultural centers and community health care facilities, contributing to the effective use of public resources and assets.
Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requested that the arrangement and handling of public assets must be implemented methodically, synchronously, and effectively, associated with the goal of improving the quality of service to the people.
For the commune level, it is mandatory to form two basic institutions including a library associated with a community cultural activity center and a center for elderly health care.
The operation of libraries and community cultural activity centers, community health care centers and elderly health centers in communes and wards in Thai Nguyen is assessed as having great significance in improving the quality of life of people, especially in remote and isolated areas.
Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee encourages localities to complete the construction of models before April 30, 2026, and no later than May 30, 2026, 100% of communes and wards must complete them.
