Voters unanimously introduced VNU Director Hoang Minh Son as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly
VNU-VNU Director Hoang Minh Son was introduced as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly with high trust from voters.
Hanoi National University (VNU) held a conference to collect voters' opinions on the introduction of personnel from the VNU-N to nominate 16th National Assembly delegates and 17th Hanoi People's Council delegates for the 2026-2031 term.
At the Conference, Party Secretary and Director of the National Assembly Office Hoang Minh Son was introduced as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
According to voters, comrade Hoang Minh Son is a prestigious leader, strategic visionary and experienced in managing higher education, science and technology.
During his working process, comrade Hoang Minh Son played an important role in forming, perfecting and organizing the implementation of many major policies and guidelines on training, contributing to promoting fundamental and comprehensive innovation of Vietnamese higher education.
His nomination as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly shows the Party and State's trust in the intellectual community and leading education managers, while contributing to strengthening the voice of the VNUQHHN in legislative activities and national policy making.
On behalf of the candidates, Director of the National Assembly of Vietnam Hoang Minh Son expressed his sincere thanks to voters for their attention, evaluation, objective comments and expressed their trust and support for the candidates.
Starting from the position of a teacher, scientist and manager in the field of higher education, comrade Hoang Minh Son said that this is an opportunity for candidates to expand their contribution scope, not only as individuals but also with the responsibility of representing the voice of intellectuals, scientists, and educational managers; contributing to reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of voters, practically contributing to the improvement of policies, promoting the development of science, technology, education and culture of the country.
With the high trust of voters, the Conference unanimously introduced comrade Hoang Minh Son as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
Along with that, Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Party Committee member of the Vietnam National Assembly Party Committee, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation and Comrade Hua Thanh Hoa - Party Committee member of the Vietnam National Assembly Party Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union were also elected by voters to run for the 16th National Assembly Delegate and the 17th Hanoi People's Council Delegate.
The voter conference at work is an important step in the bargaining process, with practical significance in promoting voters' mastery, ensuring democracy, publicity and transparency in the nomination of candidates.
The introduction and nomination of the 16th National Assembly delegates of the National Assembly is of special significance, a great honor, and at the same time, a political responsibility as well as contributing to enhancing the position, prestige and influence of the 16th National Assembly in many aspects.
The leaders of the National Assembly University directly participating in the activities of the National Assembly will link theory with practice, thereby making practical contributions to summarizing practice, developing theory, improving the quality of training, scientific research and policy consultation.
At the same time, when VNU-Soviet universities staff participate in the National Assembly, it will contribute to enhancing the voice of intellectuals and scientists of leading higher education institutions in the highest state power agency.
With the strength of scientific research, policy making and strategic consulting, delegates from the VNU have the opportunity to participate more deeply in the process of law-making and policies in key areas such as education - training, science - technology, innovation, digital transformation and high-quality human resource development.
In addition, the participation of VNU-Shenhen personnel at the National Assembly also contributes to more closely connecting management practice, training, research with legislative and supervisory activities, thereby promptly reflecting the issues arising from the practice of the higher education system and science and technology. This is an important basis for the State's policies and guidelines to become increasingly practical, feasible and highly influential.
The presence of National Assembly deputies and the Hanoi People's Council from VNU also has the meaning of spreading the value of knowledge, scientific spirit and sustainable development thinking in the process of national policy making; contributing to affirming the pioneering role of VNU-Hanoi in implementing the mission of talent training, top-notch research and policy consulting.
Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son is a PhD in Automation Engineering at Dresden University of Technical General Education (Germany). He has worked at Hanoi University of Science and Technology since 2000, was appointed Associate Professor in 2006, and held key leadership positions of the school before being appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Training in October 2020. On September 3, 2025, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council and Director of Hanoi National University.
