Strongly innovate thinking and action

This morning (January 20), at the opening session of the 14th National Congress of the Party (14th National Assembly), Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented a report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Referring to many contents, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu said that the Central Party Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, headed by the General Secretary, have led and directed strong innovation in thinking and action; resolutely and synchronously implemented many major policies and guidelines.

The revolution of streamlining the apparatus, basically perfecting the overall model of the political system; promoting breakthroughs in developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation associated with innovation in national governance thinking, creating development to serve the people.

The Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat promptly issued many important and strategic resolutions, focusing on 10 core contents in the socio-economic development strategy for the period 2021-2030.

The Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat also lead and direct the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs, promoting the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, education and training, protecting people's health care and major policies on developing the private economy, the state economy, developing nuclear energy, developing Vietnamese culture.

Regarding the leadership and direction of national defense, security, foreign affairs and international integration, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu said that there are many important resolutions, conclusions and directives, especially strategic autonomy in defense, security and foreign affairs; maintaining territorial border sovereignty, national security, political security, social order and safety.

The People's Army and the People's Public Security were built revolutionarily, disciplined, elite, and gradually modernized; some military branches and forces advanced straight to modernity and basically completed the adjustment of the organization of the military and police to be streamlined and strong.

Regarding leadership and direction of Party building and rectification and the political system, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat have focused on leading and directing strong and comprehensive innovation in Party building and rectification; fighting to prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" within the Party.

In particular, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat said that for the first time, it has completed the arrangement of 100% of Party Committee Secretaries, Chairmen of Provincial People's Committees and some leadership positions that are not local people. Along with that, sectors and levels have promptly reviewed and improved the grassroots party organization, innovated the content and forms of Party Committee and Party cell activities.

The General Secretary is the core center of leadership

The Standing Secretariat said that the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat have united and seriously set an example in complying with the Political Conduct, the Party Charter, the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws. All issues with different opinions are discussed democratically, frankly, cautiously and carefully when deciding.

The Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, headed by the General Secretary, always innovate their thinking, leadership and direction methods; closely follow the guiding viewpoints, working regulations and practical situations; proactively seize opportunities and organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress to achieve many important and comprehensive achievements and results.

The Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, headed by the General Secretary, are the core center of leadership, always steadfast in their mettle and intelligence, upholding principles, being calm, wise, alert, and promptly having the right policy and policies in accordance with the actual situation, ensuring the highest interests of the country and the people.

The Standing Committee of the Secretariat also noted the limitations and shortcomings in leadership, direction, institutionalization, concretization, and organization of the implementation of a number of policies and resolutions of the Party.

There is a situation where some central cadres, including senior cadres and key cadres, lack training, lack steadfastness, perseverance, lack exemplary conduct in work and life, degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, violation of Party regulations and State laws, causing outrage in the Party, in society and affecting the prestige and fighting strength of the Party.

"The Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat would like to seriously review and self-criticize before the Congress, the entire Party, and the entire people about the above limitations and shortcomings," said the Standing Committee of the Secretariat.

Taking the happiness and satisfaction of the people as a measure and a standard of striving

Regarding the direction in the coming time, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu said that the Central Party Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat will focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of the work of building and rectifying the Party so that our Party is truly "more ethical and civilized".

One of the key tasks mentioned by the Standing Committee of the Secretariat is to continue to strongly innovate the Party's leadership and governance methods; improve the quality and effectiveness of political and ideological work, personnel organization and inspection and supervision work.

The Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat will also focus on leading and directing the comprehensive and synchronous completion of institutions for the country's rapid and sustainable development; urgently research and innovate the development model, establish a new growth model; promote breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

All policies of the Party and State must truly come from the needs, aspirations, legitimate rights and interests of the people; taking the happiness and satisfaction of the people as a measure and a standard of striving, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized.
