Presenting a report on the Documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress in the opening session of the Congress this morning (January 20), General Secretary To Lam mentioned many contents, emphasizing that "people are the root", the highest measure of all decisions.
According to General Secretary To Lam, the central ideology in the Document and also the stronghold of the Vietnamese revolution is "The people are the root". The people are the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force and the resource of development. All guidelines and policies must aim to improve the material and spiritual life of the people; ensure the people's mastery; respect, listen and rely on the people.
The Party must be closely connected with the People, devoted to serving the People, subject to the supervision of the People, and responsible to the People for all its decisions.
"The people's trust in the Party does not come from words, but from work, from the impartiality and integrity of cadres, from the effectiveness of the apparatus, from fairness in benefits, from the results of protecting legitimate rights and interests, promptly and thoroughly resolving the legitimate concerns of people and businesses" - the General Secretary stated.
According to the General Secretary, entering the new stage, we must take even more care to build a position of people's hearts. If the people's heart is strong, then national defense and security will be strong; if the people's heart is strong, then reform will come to an end. If the people's heart is strong, all difficulties will be overcome, all challenges will be resolved, just as Uncle Ho taught "Easy is a hundred times but the people can endure - Difficult is a thousand times but the people are done".
The General Secretary requested that each delegate attending the Congress, each cadre and party member across the country, when studying the Document, should ask themselves: What benefits does this bring to the people? Does it make people more confident? Will it make the people's lives better? Will it make the country richer and stronger? If the answer is not clear, it must continue to be improved, because all decisions are only meaningful when the people agree, support and bring practical benefits to the people.
The General Secretary affirmed that the 14th National Party Congress is a Congress of faith and aspiration, of breakthroughs and action, of discipline and creativity, of solidarity and development.
The 14th National Party Congress took place when the "historic clock" was marking the decisive times before the 2030 mark - the moment our Party celebrated its 100th anniversary of birth, fighting, growing and developing. Never before have we wished for a democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam as it is today; but we have never had to face so many challenges, so many harsh demands, and so much competitive pressure as at this time.
Inheriting the glorious tradition under the glorious flag of the Party; with the consensus and joint efforts of the entire Party, people and army; with the will to self-reliance, self-strengthening and aspiration to rise up of the nation; with the strategic vision and breakthrough decisions identified in the documents submitted to the 14th National Congress; we will certainly create a strong and substantial transition, bringing the country to break through, fully implementing Uncle Ho's sacred wish: "My last wish is: All of our Party and people unite to strive, build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and rich Vietnam, and contribute worthily to the cause of the world revolution".
We are entering a new stage of development with the backpack being the glorious tradition of the nation, the result of 96 years under the leadership of the Party, the 40 years of renovation with valuable lessons, the strength of national great unity and the position of people's hearts.
We have enough basis to believe: When there is high unity in ideology; determination in action; strictness in discipline; The people are truly the center, we will definitely make aspirations come true; make the country move forward strongly, move forward firmly in the era of national growth, moving towards socialism.
Under the glorious flag of the Party, let's join hands, maintain trust, uphold responsibility, promote intelligence, arouse aspirations; make each year, each month, each day after the Congress have specific results, have real changes; so that the People can see, the People believe, the People support, the People accompany and the People enjoy" - the General Secretary stated.
