Today, National Assembly delegations meet to elect Heads of Delegations and Deputy Heads of Delegations
On April 5, the National Assembly held a preparatory session and National Assembly delegations met to elect Heads of Delegations and Deputy Heads of Delegations.
According to information from the National Assembly Office, on Monday, April 6, 2026, based on the provisions of law, the First Session, the 16th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will solemnly open at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital.
Over the past time, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government, the Secretary General of the National Assembly - Chairman of the National Assembly Office, the Ethnic Council, National Assembly Committees, National Assembly Delegations, National Assembly Deputies, the National Assembly Office and relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals have urgently prepared the contents to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at the First Session, 16th National Assembly.
Before the opening of the Session, at 7:00 AM on the same day, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and National Assembly deputies laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Representatives of National Assembly delegations laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs.
At 8:00 AM on the same day, the National Assembly held the opening session of the First Session, 16th National Assembly at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House. The opening session was broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1), Voice of Vietnam (VOV1).
On April 5, 2026, the National Assembly will hold a preparatory session. From 9 am, National Assembly delegations will meet to elect Heads of Delegations and Deputy Heads of Delegations.
From 2 pm, the National Assembly meets at the Hall, listening to Politburo Member, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly Tran Thanh Man speak; listening to Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly - Chairman of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh present the Report on receiving, explaining, and revising the draft program of the First Session, 16th National Assembly.
After that, the National Assembly will conduct discussions and vote to approve the program of the Session.
