Establishment of grassroots trade unions, admission of 64 workers to trade union organizations

On September 25, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap organized a ceremony to announce the decision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation on admitting union members and establishing the grassroots trade union (CĐCS) of Long Viet BIO-TECH Co., Ltd. in Sa Dec Industrial Park, Sa Dec ward, Dong Thap province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap; representatives of the Policy and Law and Labor Relations Department under the Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of the Economic Zone Management Board; Mr. Li Shuangping - Director of the Company and employees.

Long Viet BIO-TECH Co., Ltd. is a 100% Chinese-invested enterprise, specializing in producing animal feed, poultry and aquaculture.

At the ceremony, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap announced the decision to admit 64 workers to the Vietnam Trade Union organization; and at the same time announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union consisting of 5 members. Mr. Ngo Minh Triet was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the grassroots trade union; Ms. Tran Nguyen Hanh held the position of Vice Chairman cum Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the grassroots trade union.

The establishment of grassroots trade unions is the result of the process of propaganda, mobilization, coordination of business leaders and the voluntary spirit of joining the Vietnam Trade Union organization of workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap, emphasized: "Trade Unions will be the focal point for gathering and uniting workers and laborers, while performing the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises".

In the coming time, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap continues to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions, innovate the content and methods of operation in the direction of being close to grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center. On this occasion, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap presented 64 free oral examination and care vouchers, worth 1 million VND/voucher, sponsored by Saigon Tam Duc Sa Dec Dental Clinic.
