Thanks to support from the Golden Heart Charity Fund, philanthropists, authorities and people, the wife of a martyr - who has lived alone worshiping her husband for nearly 55 years now has a new spacious and solid house.

In Bo Ba village, Chan Thinh commune, Lao Cai province, Ms. Tran Thi Man (74 years old) has lived alone for more than half a century, silently worshiping her husband who sacrificed himself when he was young.

Going back in memories, Ms. Man recounted that in 1961, her family went to Chan Thinh land to build a new economy. In the mountainous region, she met and fell in love with Mr. Ha Van Chanh (born in 1952). The happiness of husband and wife had not yet been filled when the war took them to both sides. On May 27, 1971, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, Mr. Chanh enlisted in the army, belonging to Company 1, Battalion 3. On December 18, 1971, soldier Ha Van Chanh heroically sacrificed himself at the Western Front. Since then, Ms. Man has remained single to worship her husband.

Understanding the circumstances, the Golden Heart Charity Fund has supported 50 million VND for Ms. Man to build a new house. The Lao Cai Provincial Martyrs' Family Support Association mobilized philanthropists to support an additional 10 million VND and 10 tons of cement. Thanks to family resources and the joint efforts of relatives, authorities, unions, and people of Bo Ba village, after more than two months of construction, the level 4 house of 60m2 has been completed with a living room, two bedrooms, a styrofoam roof, tiled floor and white painted walls.

On October 14th, the Golden Heart Charity Fund in coordination with the Lao Cai Provincial Martyrs' Families Support Association, the Provincial Party Committee Office and the Party Committee and government of Chan Thinh commune organized the inauguration and handover of the house to Ms. Man's family. On this occasion, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Duong Quoc Huy and many organizations and unions also sent gifts and encouraged her.

On her happy day, Ms. Man expressed her gratitude to the Golden Heart Charity Fund, philanthropists and local authorities for helping her realize her seemingly difficult wish. Currently, the Lao Cai Provincial Martyrs' Families Support Association is urgently completing 5 other gratitude houses supported by the Golden Heart Charity Fund, expected to be completed in 2026.
