Lao Cai honors 96 outstanding farmers in 2026
Lao Cai - In the afternoon of October 9th, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized a conference to honor 96 typical individuals in labor, production, business and new rural construction.
Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province; Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, along with representatives of departments, agencies, branches, localities, businesses, cooperatives and a large number of officials and farmer members.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Farmers' Association emphasized the role of the farming class in socio-economic development.
In Lao Cai, farmers are increasingly proactive in applying science and technology, digital transformation, participating in the collective economy and linking with businesses to improve productivity, quality and value of agricultural products.
In recent years, the movement "Farmers produce and do business well, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" has been widely implemented by Association levels, contributing to discovering and replicating many effective production models, creating motivation for members to rise up to develop the economy.
To date, Lao Cai has 6 individuals honored with the title "Scientist of the Farmer", 26 farmers voted for the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" and 8 cooperatives honored as "National Typical Cooperatives".
Many farmers in the province also achieved high results at the "Farmers' Technical Creativity" Contest organized by the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union.
In 2026, the whole province has more than 102,000 member households registered to strive to achieve the title of excellent farmer in production and business at all levels. From the nomination dossiers, the Provincial Farmers' Association selected 96 typical individuals to honor.
Among them, 70 individuals have outstanding achievements in production and business; 4 typical individuals in building new rural areas, protecting national security and 22 individuals with achievements in production and business linkages according to the value chain.
Speaking to direct, Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province acknowledged and praised the contributions of all levels of the Association, officials, farmer members, especially 96 individuals honored.
He proposed that Association levels and members continue to innovate thinking, shift from agricultural production to agricultural economic development according to the value chain, associated with market demand; promote the application of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and apply safe and environmentally friendly production processes.
On this occasion, the Lao Cai Provincial Farmers' Association awarded certificates and honored 96 "Outstanding Lao Cai Farmers" in 2026.
The activity aims to recognize efforts and initiatives in labor and production, and at the same time spread effective models, encourage farmers to innovate thinking, develop the economy and join hands to build new rural areas.
