Lam Dong criticizes policies to support production in ethnic minority areas
Lam Dong - Social criticism conference focuses on contributing opinions on draft policies to support production in ethnic minority areas, towards efficiency and stable livelihoods.
On October 2nd, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province organized a social criticism conference on the draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on policies to support investment in production development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Provincial People's Council, departments, branches, localities, socio-political organizations, along with experts, scientists and people with practical experience in production, cooperatives, supply of materials and consumption of agricultural products.
Mr. Pham Trieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - said that the policy was built in the context of Lam Dong expanding its area after arranging administrative units, with different production conditions and support needs between regions.
According to Mr. Trieu, the conference aims to contribute to ensuring compatibility between subjects, needs, content, level of support with resources and implementation capacity.
Delegates focused on contributing opinions on beneficiaries, crop lists, levels and contents of support, input supply mechanisms, transportation freight subsidies, purchasing and consumption of products, capital recovery as well as policy implementation capacity.
Many opinions suggested designing policies in a chain, from input support to consumption, and at the same time developing solutions when crop failures, natural disasters, epidemics or fluctuations in agricultural product prices occur.
According to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the policy aims to improve production capacity, improve income, stabilize livelihoods and help people be more proactive in production and consumption of agricultural products.
Critical opinions will be summarized and sent to the drafting agency for research, reception and explanation.
