An Giang - Border Guard and local forces and authorities actively help people in Giang Thanh border commune harvest nearly 10 hectares of flooded rice.
In recent days, hundreds of turns of officers and soldiers of Giang Thanh and Phu My Border Guard units, under the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, have proactively coordinated with forces and local authorities to actively help people harvest nearly 10 hectares of flooded rice area.
In Giang Thanh border commune, heavy rain appeared on a large scale, floodwaters from upstream poured in very quickly, directly affecting people's lives and production. For many households, especially those with rice and crop areas that are about to be harvested, if not harvested in time, the risk of flooding is very high.
Grasping the situation, the Commanders of the two Border Guard Stations proactively assigned officers and soldiers to stick to the area, coordinate with local authorities to review areas at risk of deep flooding, and households with crop areas that need urgent harvesting to organize support forces.

Regardless of rain or wind, muddy roads, Border Guard officers and soldiers quickly arrived at production areas. Maximizing local tools and means to support people in reinforcing and raising items, bringing crops to safe locations.
In low-lying fields, water begins to flood in, officers, soldiers and people take advantage of every hour to harvest. All vegetables, rice, and agricultural products after harvest are transported ashore, brought home or gathered in high, dry locations.
Lieutenant Colonel Ha Duc Hanh, Commander of Giang Thanh Border Guard Station shared: "At this time, people really need support, if delayed for a few more days, floodwaters can damage many areas of crops. Therefore, we take advantage of the time, mobilize forces to help people harvest and transport to where they are transported, how to minimize damage for our people.
Not only directly helping people harvest crops, the two units also coordinate with local forces to propagate and mobilize people to proactively respond to floods. Officers and soldiers go to each residential area, each household to grasp the situation, remind people to monitor weather developments, proactively protect property, livestock, poultry and all kinds of machinery and means of production. For households with elderly people, young children or difficult circumstances, the Border Guard force coordinates with local authorities to develop support plans when necessary. Means and tools serving rescue and relief work are also inspected and ready to be mobile when situations occur.
In the process of helping people, officers and soldiers also combine propaganda to raise people's awareness of disaster prevention and control, not to be subjective when floodwaters rise, and to limit travel in dangerous areas, especially at night..." Senior Lieutenant Colonel Danh Kim Huol, Political Commissar of Phu My Border Guard Station, said.
The rainy and flood season is still unpredictable, currently the two Border Guard stations continue to maintain forces on duty, sticking to the area, regularly updating weather conditions, water levels and flood risks.
