Listening to the opinions of workers

Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has a total capacity of 1,800 MW, with more than 600 officials and employees.

In the production process, many issues directly related to the lives and working conditions of workers are raised at periodic dialogues.

This includes sharing from lunch meals to labor protection equipment, housing, means of transportation, and the need to borrow capital to stabilize life... The recommendations are received, discussed and processed by the Trade Union and the Board of Directors.

One of the issues that workers are concerned about is the quality of meals. Before the proposal to diversify menus and improve meal quality, the factory has worked with the meal provider to adjust.

The Executive Committee of the Factory Trade Union promotes the establishment of a food safety and hygiene monitoring group periodically and publicly reports on monitoring.

Other recommendations of the Trade Union and employees are also specifically resolved.

In response to reflections that protective shoes are water-resistant and thin raincoats in a humid working environment, the factory has distributed new protective shoe samples that are resistant to slipping and reflective and better waterproof raincoats.

The Board of Directors and the Factory Trade Union also coordinated to arrange a plan to transport workers to work in shifts. At the same time, surveyed the degraded condition at Bau Sam apartment complex to develop a repair plan.

For long-term housing needs, the Trade Union coordinates with the factory to survey the loan needs of workers. The Finance and Accounting Department is assigned to study a plan to work with the bank to implement appropriate credit programs.

The factory confirms income according to regulations, creating favorable conditions for workers to access loans to build houses and purchase vehicles for work.

Applying technology to publicize information

A new point in implementing democracy at the grassroots level at Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant is the application of technology to publicize information.

The factory and the Trade Union built the QR code "Implementing democracy at the grassroots level". With just a mobile phone, workers can access the open data warehouse and look up related contents including: the Law on Implementing Democracy at the Grassroots level and guiding documents, EVN collective labor agreements, factory labor regulations...

Notably, the entire text of the minutes and conclusions after periodic dialogues are also uploaded to the system. Employees can follow reports on the progress of receiving and processing each opinion and recommendation according to timelines.

This approach helps workers to access information about their rights and responsibilities more conveniently. At the same time, the process from receiving opinions to handling petitions is made public, creating conditions for workers to monitor and supervise.

According to Mr. Vu Thanh Hai - Director of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, specific actions, from improving lunch meals, protective equipment to supporting workers with housing and finance, have contributed to increasing the connection between workers and the plant.

At the factory, dialogue is maintained along with the public disclosure of information in the digital environment. Through this, workers' voices are received more promptly; content related to rights, working conditions and life is publicly exchanged.

The Trade Union's coordination with businesses to apply technology in implementing democracy at the grassroots level opens up another channel for workers to access information, reflect recommendations and monitor handling results.

From specific issues at the workplace, dialogue mechanisms and information disclosure contribute to building stable labor relations and increasing consensus in businesses.
