Pregnant women and childcare clubs, adding benefits to female workers in Dong Thap
Dong Thap - The "Pregnant Women and Child Raising Club" model helps female workers improve their knowledge of health care, child raising and policy access.
More knowledge, steadfast in taking care of family
At the activity of the "Pregnant Women and Child Raising" Club organized by the grassroots Trade Union of Freeview Industrial Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) recently in Tan Huong Industrial Park, female workers were guided by specialist doctors on newborn care skills and gynecological disease identification.

With the theme "Caring for babies under 6 months old and how to identify gynecological diseases", the program provides knowledge about how to hold a baby, care when breastfeeding and sleeping, hygiene, skin care; and at the same time guides on recognizing signs of a baby breastfeeding enough. Doctors also advise on cervical cancer and answer health situations that female workers are concerned about.
Not only receiving knowledge, members also exchange directly with doctors, share experiences and participate in knowledge games to receive gifts.

According to Mr. Le Vo Huu Hanh - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Freeview Industrial Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), the club aims to improve knowledge of mother and baby health care, creating an environment for female union members and workers to exchange and support each other to balance work and life.
This need is even more evident at a business with more than 21,950 union members, workers, and laborers, of which about 90% are women; 16% of female workers are pregnant or raising children under 6 years old. Organizing counseling right at the business helps women have more conditions to access scientific knowledge, and feel more secure in the process of working and taking care of their families.
Attracting thousands of female union members to participate
According to Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - Chairwoman of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ), although newly formed in October 2025, the model has initially been effective thanks to meeting the need to share experiences, knowledge and difficulties of female union members during pregnancy and raising young children. By the third quarter of 2026, Dong Thap Trade Union levels have launched 10 clubs in 10 units and businesses, attracting 816 female union members, workers, and laborers to participate.

The content of activities is expanded from pregnancy health care, nutrition, childcare to skills to balance work and family. This is also a channel to propagate policies and laws related to female workers, such as maternity regimes, working hours, rest and social insurance benefits. Ms. Vui said that the Provincial Trade Union will continue to adjust operating regulations closely to actual needs, gradually replicating the model at enterprises inside and outside industrial parks and clusters, especially in places with a large concentration of female workers.
In parallel, the Dong Thap Trade Union maintains programs to care for workers' families. In the third quarter of 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded 251 scholarships, worth a total of 161 million VND, to children of workers overcoming difficulties and studying well; coordinated to award 200 sets of English reading markers distributed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
From health advice to knowledge and policy support, the club model contributes to expanding the care method of the Trade Union organization, helping female workers have more support in the journey of both working and taking care of young children.
