Ngoc Ha Ward People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement solutions to overcome bottlenecks of environmental pollution in the ward.

According to the People's Committee of Ngoc Ha Ward, there are still some garbage collection points in the ward that are not in the right places; the classification of household waste has not been seriously implemented. Along with that, there is a large number of vehicles circulating in the ward, leading to high smoke and dust; some civil works are not covered in accordance with regulations.

To overcome the problem of air pollution, the ward will strengthen management and control of dust generating sources in the area; Require households, individuals, and construction units to cover works, construction materials, and clean construction areas according to regulations.

The People's Committee of the ward coordinated with the Urban Environment Company, Ba Dinh branch to organize sweeping, collecting garbage, cleaning streets and sidewalks; increase the frequency of collecting, sweeping, and washing streets on main roads, densely populated areas, and areas that frequently generate dust.

Along with that, strictly inspect and handle cases of vehicles transporting construction materials that are scattered, not covered, causing dust and environmental pollution.

Strengthen propaganda, reminders, and requirements for people to stop burning household waste and other waste that pollute the air environment. Organize inspections and strictly handle violations; assign responsibility to residential groups to promptly detect and report illegal garbage burning.

The Ward People's Committee stipulates that at least one weekend per month, all agencies, businesses and residential groups simultaneously organize environmental cleaning activities: cleaning up garbage in areas near their residence or workplace, such as vacant lots, sewers, canals, and public areas.

Regarding solutions to strengthen the management of domestic solid waste, the People's Committee of the ward reviewed and rearranged the system of garbage collection points in the area; eliminated spontaneous garbage collection points that were not in accordance with regulations. Coordinate with the garbage collection unit to adjust the collection time and frequency to suit the reality; ensure that household waste is thoroughly collected throughout the day, without long-term stagnation.

Strengthen the collection and transportation of household waste in the area, ensuring that 100% of waste is collected and transported within the day, ensuring environmental sanitation at garbage collection points. Strengthen inspection and handling of cases of garbage storage in the wrong place in residential areas that cause loss of aesthetics and environmental pollution. The Ward People's Committee assigned the residential group to directly monitor, remind and report violations.

"Propaganda, guidance and investment in infrastructure to classify waste at source in households, residential areas, agencies, schools, offices, public areas, etc. piloting waste collection models that have been classified in some apartment buildings, then expanding them" - the plan clearly states.

Regarding solutions to strengthen the management of solid construction waste, the ward requires household owners and construction project owners to sign a commitment not to illegally dump waste; organize their own collection and transportation to the legal receiving place according to regulations.

At the same time, strictly control environmental pollution in construction activities of households in residential areas in the area; organize inspections and strictly handle cases of illegal dumping of construction solid waste; handle the responsibility of the owner of the arising source, not just handle the transporters...

Regarding solutions to improve the water environment and drainage system, the People's Committee of the ward reviews, dredges, clears sewers and drainage ditches; handles polluted and congested areas that cause environmental dis Sanitation.
