Each soldier of the Capital's armed forces must be an active propagandist

On October 10, in Hanoi, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City organized the Ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Capital Armed Forces (October 19, 1946 - October 19, 2026) and receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

General Secretary, President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission attended and delivered directing speeches at the Anniversary.

Building the Capital's armed forces "lean, compact, strong

Speaking at the Anniversary Ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, directly and regularly the Hanoi Party Committee and the Central Military Commission, with the love and protection of the people, through 80 years of building, fighting, winning, growing and developing, the Capital's armed forces have been closely associated with the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi, steadfast and determined, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, both actively training to build a strong force, and bravely fighting, supporting, and coordinating combat, creating glorious feats of arms, making great contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged and highly appreciated the close and effective leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense; the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Hanoi City; the concern, coordination and favorable conditions created by central departments, ministries, branches, and localities, so that the Capital's armed forces become increasingly strong and mature in all aspects, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized focusing on building the Capital's armed forces "sophisticated, compact, strong", revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern, taking political building as the basis for improving overall strength and level, combat capability.

Build a strong standing force, a powerful reserve force, a strong, widespread, high-quality militia and self-defense force, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Have breakthrough solutions, innovate and improve the quality of training, combat readiness, mobility and ability to respond and effectively handle traditional and non-traditional security challenges.

Promote research and application of science, technology, artificial intelligence and the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution into training, command, management and combat readiness. Proactively build and practice proficient plans; closely coordinate with military and police units in the area to firmly grasp, accurately forecast, and promptly handle situations, be ready to fight to protect the safety of important targets and political events taking place in the area; resolutely fight to defeat the plots and tricks of hostile forces, maintain political security and social order and safety.

Hanoi City and the Hanoi Capital Command need to proactively develop plans, actively and proactively coordinate to do a good job of preparing to participate, serve and ensure security and safety for major holidays in the Capital; ensure facilities, barracks, training grounds, training grounds, modernize weapons and technical equipment suitable to the specific tasks of the Capital's armed forces.

Effectively implement the movement "Soldiers and militia of the Capital join hands to build new rural areas

General Secretary and President To Lam noted to regularly take care of building a strong military Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, maintaining and strengthening the absolute and direct leadership of the Party in all aspects over the Capital's armed forces.

Focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Strategy for ideological work in the new context and resolutions, directives, conclusions, and regulations on Party building; resolutely fight to prevent all manifestations of degradation in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, manifestations of "self-evolution", "self-transformation". Promote the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, methods, and style in the new development stage and the Campaign "Promoting traditions, dedicating talents, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized strengthening and consolidating the solidarity and close relationship between the army and the people, contributing to building a strong political base in the locality, building a solid "people's heart formation" and the great national unity bloc.

Currently, the Capital is determined to rise strongly, with breakthrough policies that need the consensus of the people, therefore, each soldier of the Capital's armed forces must be an active propagandist right at the grassroots level to propagate and mobilize the people, listen to and promptly reflect the thoughts and aspirations of the people to competent authorities for consideration and resolution, not to create hotspots.

In addition, continue to promote the good implementation of the movement "Soldiers and militia of the Capital join hands to build new rural areas" with strengthening the construction of civilized urban areas; link infrastructure development with improving people's lives; effectively implement policy work, military rear, gratitude; improve the effectiveness of civil defense work, considering this an important task of the Capital's armed forces; take the lead, be the core force in preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, incidents, and search and rescue; and at the same time, effectively deploy foreign affairs and defense work.

On this occasion, General Secretary, President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Hanoi Capital Command and the Ministry of National Defense.
