HCMC Chairman requests breakthrough solutions to prevent traffic jams and flooding

HCMC - The shortcomings such as traffic jams, flooding, environmental pollution, administrative reform, investment promotion need to clarify the causes and have effective solutions.

The above request was raised by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc at the second (expanded) Conference of the Party Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030, held on the morning of January 16.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc said that in 2025, the City will continue to maintain a high economic growth rate, creating an important foundation to implement development goals in the coming period.

Notably, on January 15, Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously started construction and broke ground on 4 key projects with a total investment of nearly VND240,000 billion (more than 9 billion USD).

After the 14th National Congress of the Party, the City will continue to implement many major projects, creating an important driving force to strive for growth of over 10%.

2025 is also the first year that Ho Chi Minh City's budget revenue will exceed VND800,000 billion. In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will have a big institutional boost when the National Assembly issued Resolution 260/2025/QH15 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Resolution 98/2023/QH15, opening up new development space, creating conditions for the City to aim for a growth target of over 10%.

In particular, the City especially focuses on promoting economic growth, striving for GRDP to increase by over 10%, the digital economy to contribute 30% of GRDP; proactively and flexibly in timely policy management and response; quickly and effectively implementing Resolution 260/2025/QH15; removing obstacles, speeding up the progress of key projects; promoting administrative reform, improving competitiveness; promoting science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
