National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived in Beijing, beginning an official visit to China.

At noon on October 11 (local time), the special plane carrying Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Beijing International Airport, beginning an official visit to China and co-chairing the second session of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, according to VNA.

Vietnam - China relations in the past time, especially after the mutual visits of General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, continue to develop positively and relatively comprehensively according to the "6 more" orientation; Vietnam's position in relations with China is increasingly enhanced.

China is Vietnam's largest trading partner; Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China's 4th largest trading partner in the world by national criteria, with bilateral trade turnover in 2025 reaching 256.4 billion USD, up 24.8%; in the first 8 months of 2026 reaching 216.1 billion USD, up 35.2%.

Along with the development momentum of the two countries' relations, the cooperative relationship between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China has been constantly strengthened and achieved many practical results. High-level exchanges and contacts between the National Assemblies of the two countries are regularly implemented.

This is the first visit of Comrade Tran Thanh Man to China in his capacity as Chairman of the National Assembly. The visit continues the high-level and close exchange between the two Parties and two countries, especially to concretize the common perceptions achieved during the State visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Vietnam in April 2025 and the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to China in April 2026.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's visit to China once again affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers relations with China as a strategic choice and top priority in foreign policy.

At the same time, the visit contributes to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and promoting the building of a Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future with higher strategic significance in the new era according to the "6 more" orientation.

The visit is also of special significance for cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. After the first session of the Cooperation Committee was organized effectively and successfully in Hanoi on August 31, 2025, the second session will continue to bring this mechanism into regular operation, with a clearer program, content and focus.

The orientations established by senior leaders need to be continued by appropriate legal frameworks, coordination between specialized agencies and monitoring and supervising the implementation process. This is a separate and practical contribution of the two legislative bodies to the relations between the two countries.
