Vietnam Social Security reviews the settlement of pension benefits according to Decree 178

On October 8, at the online conference of the whole system in the fourth quarter of 2026, Vietnam Social Security (BHXH) assessed the results of task implementation in the first 9 months of the year and deployed key solutions in the last months of the year.

According to Vietnam Social Security, in the first 9 months of 2026, this agency has issued many documents guiding the implementation of nghiệp vụ in resolving social insurance (BHXH), unemployment insurance (BHTN) policies and reviewing the contents of payment and settlement of regimes, ensuring timely and full settlement of workers' rights. Specifically, such as the implementation of maternity benefits when giving birth to a second child according to the provisions of the Population Law; reviewing monthly work accident benefits; reviewing duplicate monthly social insurance benefits...

It is noteworthy that Vietnam Social Security is reviewing the settlement of pension benefits for people retiring early according to Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP.

At the conference, the implementation of social insurance and unemployment insurance policies continued to be concerned in the stages of reviewing data before resolving regimes, managing beneficiaries, promoting non-cash payments and limiting the occurrence of incorrect and duplicate payments.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Mr. Le Hung Son - Director of Vietnam Social Security requested units to urgently review the tasks for 2026, prioritizing resources for tasks that directly affect the legitimate rights of participants.

Social insurance agencies of provinces and cities are required to continue to fully and promptly implement social insurance and unemployment insurance regimes, strengthen the application of data and reform administrative procedures.
