Looking back at the period 2024 - 2026, social security work was implemented in a special context, when natural disasters and storms diễn biến bất thường, continuously causing great damage to people, property and livelihoods. That context sets out the requirement that social security work must be implemented quickly, urgently, and promptly, both ensuring immediate essential needs and supporting people to restore housing, production and stabilize their long-term lives.

Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the campaigns launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels, the tradition of mutual affection continues to be strongly promoted when thousands of businesses, organizations, individuals, people in the country and compatriots abroad have contributed funds, goods, materials, and working days to help difficult families.

The joint efforts of organizations and individuals, from emergency relief to housing and livelihood support, Tet care and gratitude to people with meritorious services, have created an important resource, contributing to meeting the requirements of caring for the People in a period of many fluctuations.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai said: "In the past 2024-2026 period, besides the advantages, our country also faced many difficulties and challenges. Natural disasters and storms and floods diễn biến bất thường occurred in many regions across the country...

In those difficult and disastrous times, the tradition of "loving others as oneself", "the healthy leaf protects the torn leaf" of the Vietnamese nation is strongly promoted. Along with the concern and care of the Party and State, the joint help of the business community, philanthropists, and contributions from people at home and abroad have contributed to helping many families overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives.

In times when people encounter natural disasters and hardships, the spirit of solidarity and mutual affection is expressed through specific and practical actions. In 2024, immediately after Typhoon Yagi, the Fatherland Front at all levels received more than 5,300 billion VND in damage support; in 2025, it received more than 4,150 billion VND from more than 1.4 million people and more than 17,000 organizations and businesses contributing to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and storms.

In less than two years, nearly 12,300 billion VND of socialized resources and more than 2.7 million working days have been mobilized, building new and repairing more than 334 thousand houses. Each home built not only helps a family have a safe place to live but also adds faith and motivation for them to feel secure in working, producing, and rising up in life.

The work of caring for the poor and people in difficult circumstances continues to be implemented with many practical actions. In 2024 alone, the Fatherland Front at all levels mobilized more than 7,300 billion VND; along with resources from the state budget, more than 53,600 Great Solidarity houses were newly built and repaired, helping more than 1.86 million people for medical examination and treatment and more than 313 thousand students to school. During the two Tet holidays of At Ty and Binh Ngo, nearly 1.4 million meaningful gifts worth nearly 1,000 billion VND were handed directly to difficult families.

Along with caring for the poor, the work of gratitude and gratitude to people with meritorious services to the revolution is always concerned. The Central "Gratitude and Gratitude" Fund has mobilized more than 470 billion VND. The program of gratitude to people with meritorious services to the revolution organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with ministries and sectors on July 23rd mobilized nearly 12,000 billion VND (Vingroup Group supported nearly 11,000 billion VND) to build houses for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, raise children of martyrs and test martyrs' DNA".

Each contribution, whether large or small, is very precious and very respectable.
