Overcoming difficulties, family stands side by side

On October 3, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters were present at Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, recording the enthusiastic working atmosphere of workers at seafood processing lines.

Ms. Dang Thi Kim Lanh (42 years old, residing in Ky Khang commune, Ha Tinh province) is currently the shift leader managing the production department of the company. She has worked here for 24 years, having held many different positions. From 2018 to now, she has held the position of shift leader.

In her work, Ms. Lanh is always dedicated, responsible, and regularly observes and supports workers when difficulties arise. She also encourages and shares with colleagues both in work and life.

Ms. Lanh's husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (43 years old), also works at Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, in the machine operator department.

At exactly 11 am, after finishing work, Mr. Tuan and his wife quickly returned to the company's worker housing area, about 500m from their workplace, to prepare lunch for their 2 sons to go home from school.

The company has lunch break meals, but sometimes husband and wife come home together to cook rice for their children, sometimes one person comes home first to prepare," Mr. Tuan shared.

Mr. Tuan and his wife got married in 2009 and have 2 sons. The eldest son is Nguyen Trong Hoang (born 2010), currently in 11th grade; the youngest son is Nguyen Trong An (born 2015), in 6th grade.

The house is in Ky Khang commune, about 25km from the company, to conveniently take care of and support the children's studies, Mr. Tuan and his wife brought their 2 children to live together in the worker housing area.

Previously, the whole family lived in a rather cramped room. Later, when the next room was empty, the company arranged this room for Mr. Tuan's family. Thanks to this, the family has more living space and children have quiet places to study.

Husband and wife understand, together build a home

Work at the company is busy, but Ms. Lanh always spends time taking care of her family. She believes that in married life, conflicts are inevitable. The important thing is that both of you know how to restrain yourself and solve them together.

Actually, in married life, it is hard to avoid loud voices. At those times, we all try to control our emotions, not to let anger lose our minds, and release offensive and uncontrollable criticisms. After that, all conflicts are resolved" - Ms. Lanh shared.

Mr. Tuan also said that he is a man, so sometimes it is difficult to avoid being hot-tempered. In such times, he tries to restrain himself, gently analyze so that the two spouses understand each other better.

In family life, Mr. Tuan proactively shares housework, from cooking, taking care of children to tutoring children when his wife is busy washing dishes and laundry.

Understanding and sharing help Mr. Tuan and Ms. Lanh's family maintain a cultural lifestyle, solidarity, love and respect for each other. The family also actively participates in local movements, building a healthy and civilized living environment.

For 5 consecutive years, from 2021 - 2025, Ms. Lanh's family was recognized as "Cultural Family" at their place of residence.

At the company, Mr. Tuan has repeatedly achieved the title of advanced laborer, emulation soldier, was praised and rewarded by the unit, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation.

Ms. Lanh has also been awarded the title of grassroots emulation soldier for many years, awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Mr. Tuan and Ms. Lanh's children are well-behaved, have self-awareness in studying and training, achieve many good results and are recognized and rewarded by the school and local authorities.

In June 2026, Ms. Lanh's family was one of 95 families commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as "Outstanding families of workers and civil servants nationwide" in the period 2021 - 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tho - Production Director of the workshop, Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - said that the company acknowledges and highly appreciates the contributions of Ms. Lanh and Mr. Tuan.

According to Mr. Tho, in addition to working effectively and having many initiatives that bring benefits to the company, Ms. Lanh and her husband are also typical families in raising children. Mr. Tuan and Ms. Lanh's family is one of the worker families that bring pride to Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company.
