Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presents the decision recognizing the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation

On October 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation organized a conference to announce the decision on personnel work.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan attended the conference and presented the decision recognizing the results of the election for the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation term I, term 2025 - 2030 to Mr. Vo Khac Thai.

Previously, at the Conference of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, term I, 2025 - 2030 (extraordinary meeting) on the afternoon of October 16, Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation before the merger) - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, term I, 2025 - 2030.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan congratulated Mr. Vo Khac Thai on being elected as Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labour. At the same time, he expected the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labour to promote knowledge and work experience in various positions, together with the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labour, promote the tradition of a trade union leader to well perform the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, well implement the Resolution of the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2026-2031 term and the Resolution of the I Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that Trade Union activities currently have many advantages, but also many difficulties, and wished Mr. Vo Khac Thai and the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to always be united, steadfast, brave, and creative in finding solutions to well perform the functions of the Vietnam Trade Union organization. In which, focus on building the organizational structure and operation of the Trade Union organization to meet the new requirements for organization and tasks of the Trade Union organization.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan noted that it is necessary to link trade union activities with the tasks and development requirements of Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time, focusing on health care, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene for workers and housing for workers to rent and buy.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan also emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is always a place to experiment, improve, and propose many institutions and policies to the Central Government. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation needs to create a model point, a new perspective, and new methods to take care of workers in the best way, ensuring stable and solid operation, and being a model for the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to replicate for other localities to study and learn from.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan also wished that the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation would strengthen solidarity and attachment between trade union officials to create collective strength in the trade union organization. At the same time, focus on taking care of building the Party and mass organizations in the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation agency to always be strong.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Khac Thai was moved to receive the trust of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation elected to the position of Chairman of the City Labor Federation.

Mr. Thai committed to unity and consensus with the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to create close cohesion in the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization to well perform the tasks and functions of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.

Mr. Thai also hoped to receive the support of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ho Chi Minh City leaders, the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and promised to try his best in the new position, contributing to the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to well implement the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress (term 2026 - 2031), Resolution of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Congress term 2025 - 2030.

In the immediate future, focus on preparing for a program to care for about 370,000 workers in difficult circumstances during the Dinh Mui Lunar New Year 2027 with a total budget of nearly 500 billion VND and starting to be implemented from November 15.

Along with that, focus on implementing digital transformation; developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions; coordinating with businesses and units to take care of the health of union members and workers, building houses for workers to rent and rent-purchase, helping workers have stable housing, ensuring social security, and businesses not being affected by human resource fluctuations, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
