Opening of the 3rd Conference of the Executive Committee of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labour
Quang Ninh - On the morning of September 29, in Bai Chay ward, Quang Ninh city, the 3rd Conference of the Executive Committee of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor opened.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: Thai Thu Xuong, Nguyen Xuan Hung, Le Van Nghia.
On the side of Quang Ninh City, there was Mr. Dinh Huu Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Ninh City Party Committee.
The 3rd Conference of the Executive Committee of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor took place on September 29-30 in Quang Ninh City, with many important contents on personnel work, union member development, improving the quality of trade union activities and labor relations.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan said that 10 contents under its authority (including 6 programs, 3 projects, 1 report) and personnel work discussed and approved at this conference are mostly specific contents concretizing the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
Many important contents, orienting trade union activities throughout the term and in the following years, therefore, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan requested delegates to focus their intelligence, uphold the spirit of responsibility, discuss, and contribute many profound and accurate opinions.
In which, with the Program for developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, participating in Party building at enterprises, phase 2026 - 2031, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan said that through practice, it has been shown that trade union officials in communes, wards, special zones, and economic zones are lacking in both quantity and quality, because the old team is transferred to other units or resigns. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement and improve the quality of the team of trade union officials at the grassroots level.
With the Program to innovate trade union financial work and improve union member welfare, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour said that for a long time, society has only seen care activities during holidays and Tet, while the need to care for and care for workers is regular.
Therefore, how to innovate finance to have more resources to use effectively to take good care of union members and workers. It is necessary to have a coordination mechanism so that union members and workers can access trade union capital sources conveniently. This is also a solution for workers to avoid black credit.
With the Project "Improving the effectiveness of dialogue, collective bargaining and building labor relations in the period 2026 - 2031", President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the role of trade union organizations is to both represent, protect, and care for workers. This is one of the main tasks of trade union organizations; workers and society assess the role of trade union organizations in this task.
Therefore, it is necessary to discuss and contribute opinions to build and improve the effectiveness of dialogue and negotiation to contribute to caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of workers.
Immediately after the opening, the Conference conducted a vote to introduce personnel to elect additional members of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the 14th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The contents discussed and commented on at the conference include:
1. Program on developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, participating in Party building at enterprises, period 2026 – 2031.
2. Program to improve the quality of trade union officials, especially full-time officials and grassroots trade union presidents in the period 2026 – 2031.
3. Program "Trade Unions accompany the Government to improve labor productivity, implement the goal of double-digit growth, period 2026 – 2031".
4. Program to promote the application of science, technology, and innovation among workers and laborers and the Vietnam Trade Union, period 2026 - 2031.
5. Program to innovate trade union financial work and improve union member welfare.
6. Project "Trade Unions participate in developing new production forces, promoting stable income jobs for workers, period 2026 – 2031".
7. Project "Improving the effectiveness of dialogue, collective bargaining and building labor relations in the period 2026 – 2031".
8. Program "Promoting Trade Union Communication in Vietnam in the period 2026 - 2031".
9. Project "Organizing activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2029)".
10. Report on the results of concretizing the "open, flexible, dynamic trade union" model according to Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo.
