The 2nd session of the 16th National Assembly considers many draft laws that directly affect the organizational structure

On the afternoon of September 29, at the Government Headquarters, the Conference of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee on the content and program of the 2nd Session of the 16th National Assembly took place.

Politburo Member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Politburo Member, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man co-chaired the conference.

The 2nd session is expected to open on October 17 and is expected to close on November 20, organized in 2 phases. Phase 1 from October 17 to November 13, phase 2 from November 19 to November 20.

At this session, the National Assembly is expected to consider and approve 45 draft laws and legal normative resolutions, many of which have a wide scope of regulation, directly affecting the organizational structure, investment environment, production, business and the rights and interests of people and businesses.

Some draft laws were considered and passed at the session such as the amended Penal Code, the amended Criminal Procedure Code, the amended Land Law, the amended Housing Law, the amended Real Estate Business Law, the State Budget Law (fusion), the Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies (amended), the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations (amended), the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Social Insurance, and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms.

At the session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on 10 groups of contents on economy, society, state budget, supervision and important issues under its authority.

The National Assembly also considers passing other draft laws and resolutions to implement legislative tasks that require completion in 2026 according to the guidelines, orientations, and new requirements in the documents of the 3rd Plenum of the Central Committee, other Party documents and considers deciding on other contents (if any).

At this session, the National Assembly will conduct questioning and answering questions.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has directed relevant agencies to urgently complete documents and sessions contents to send to National Assembly deputies in accordance with the law.

The National Assembly Standing Committee requests delegations and National Assembly deputies to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities to organize for National Assembly deputies to meet with voters, collect opinions and recommendations from voters, and send summary reports to the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front before October 2nd to summarize reports to the National Assembly.

Along with that, it is proposed that National Assembly deputies send the questionnaire to the National Assembly Standing Committee to be forwarded to the responsible person to answer (in writing).
