Vietnam - Laos strengthen ideological work in both the real and digital environments
Faced with new methods of sabotage, Vietnam and Laos need to conduct ideological work in parallel in both the real and digital environments.
In the afternoon of September 29, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission Trinh Van Quyet received the delegation of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Mr. Sakhone Phommalath, Deputy Head of the Commission.
At the reception, Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission Trinh Van Quyet said that currently, both Vietnam and Laos are implementing ideological, communication, and journalistic work, protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the context of many difficulties and challenges, especially the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms.
Digital space is developing complicatedly, impacting people's thoughts and feelings every day and every hour. Hostile forces take advantage of AI to create fake news; impersonate voices, distort, and sabotage the Party, State and Vietnam-Laos relations. In which, young people are the targets who use social networks a lot, posing great requirements for the political and ideological work of the two Parties.
Faced with new methods of sabotage in the digital environment, Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission Trinh Van Quyet noted that it is necessary to conduct ideological work in parallel in both the real and digital environments; promote digital transformation in the field of thought and culture.

Emphasizing that 2027 is a year of special significance when the two countries celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department proposed to continue to deepen the cooperative relationship between the two agencies in the coming period.
Accordingly, the two Committees continue to closely coordinate, soon complete and unify the Draft Cooperation Agreement for the period 2027 - 2031, and report to competent authorities for approval for signing in 2027. Strengthen exchange of experiences on political and ideological work, propaganda, press orientation and foreign information; pay attention to new contents such as digital communication, grasping and orienting public opinion.
Along with that, continue to maintain and improve the quality of professional training classes for Lao propaganda cadres in Vietnam; strengthen exchanges of cadres, especially young cadres and cadres working in professional fields; strengthen coordination in propaganda about Vietnam-Laos relations, especially in 2027. Thereby, contributing to consolidating and strengthening cooperative relations between the two Committees, contributing to maintaining and promoting the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
