Towards the 14th National Party Congress: Fishermen keep the sea, hope to feel secure at sea
In the atmosphere of the whole country towards the 14th National Party Congress, fishermen at sea sent their faith and hope to feel secure going out to sea, keeping the sea, and stabilizing their livelihoods.
In the last days of the year, in the sea area bordering Vietnam - Indonesia, many fishermen are still tirelessly clinging to the fishing grounds. Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai, captain of fishing boat KG95965TS (An Giang province), and a fleet of 17 boats with more than 100 workers still maintain a steady flow to sea. Having been involved in the sea profession for more than 20 years, each fishing trip lasting over 6 months, Mr. Hai clearly understands the dangers that always lurk at the head of the waves and the wind.
According to Mr. Hai, in the midst of the coast, the presence of Navy ships, Coast Guard, and Militia is a great spiritual support for fishermen. "Just seeing the ships of the forces on duty will help people feel secure. Not only checking and reminding them to comply with the law, they are also ready to support when fishing boats have problems. Thanks to that, we fishermen are more confident when sticking to the sea for a long time," Mr. Hai shared.

For fishermen, each boat going out to sea not only carries a livelihood of chewing but is also a milestone of survival between the islands. The national flag flying on the bow of the ship is both a source of pride and a reminder for people to comply with the law, exploit it in accordance with regulations, and not to violate foreign waters.
Talented striker Vo Hoang Rui, fishing boat AG95788TS (An Giang province), said that thanks to the regular dissemination of laws, the possession of national flags and timely support in times of difficulty, fishermen's sense of compliance has been increasingly improved.
"When going to sea, people always remind each other to do business in accordance with the law. Now, no matter the circumstances, we are determined not to violate foreign waters," said Mr. Rap.
Sharing about the expectations for the 14th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Vo Hoang rat expressed his confidence: "We fishermen believe in the leadership of the Party and hope that the Congress will continue to have policies and pay more attention to the lives and livelihoods of people going to sea, so that fishermen can feel secure to go offshore, stick to the sea for a long time, exploit the right law and work with the forces to maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland".

Not only offshore, at Tran De Fishing Port (Can Tho City), the working atmosphere is also bustling these days. Fishing vessels arrived one after another after long sea trips, bringing seafood and expectations to the 14th National Party Congress.

Fisherman Nguyen Hoang Tam, owner of a fishing boat in Tran De commune, said that fuel and labor costs are increasing while seafood output is still unstable. "Fishermen hope that the upcoming Congress will continue to pay attention to supporting preferential loans, stabilizing fuel prices, and supporting the cost of converting journey monitoring equipment for offshore fishing vessels. With a solid rear, we can feel secure going out to sea for a long time," said Mr. Tam.

In addition to livelihoods, safety at sea is also a major concern for fishermen. According to fisherman Huynh Van Manh, offshore fishing with the regular presence of functional forces at sea is an important spiritual support for the people. Looking towards the 14th National Party Congress, fishermen affirmed that they will continue to unite, strictly comply with the law, and exploit seafood sustainably, determined not to violate foreign waters.
"We fishermen believe in the leadership of the Party and hope that the Congress will have more practical policies and guidelines, so that marine workers can feel secure going out to sea and sticking to the sea for a long time, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland," Mr. Manh expressed.
