On January 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province said that during the 2026 New Year holiday, tourism activities in the province will be vibrant and safe, with about 120,000 visitors, with total revenue estimated at 138 billion VND.
During the 2026 New Year holiday (from January 1 to January 4), the Quang Tri tourism industry recorded many positive signals, with an increase in the number of visitors, sightseeing, entertainment activities taking place enthusiastically, ensuring safety and order.

Many activities to welcome the New Year 2026 are organized on an appropriate scale, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate. Some outstanding events include the New Year's Eve program in Phong Nha, Bao Ninh 1 Urban Area (Dong Hoi Ward), Nam Dong Ha Ward with low-altitude fireworks, art performances; welcoming the first group of tourists to Quang Tri by air; welcoming the first visitors to visit the Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Natural Heritage.
Statistics show that the total number of tourists to Quang Tri during the holiday is estimated at about 120,000, of which international tourists are about 4,500, mainly from the US, UK, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Korea, China...
Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 138 billion VND. The average room occupancy rate is about 45%, with Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Khe Sanh areas alone reaching about 70%. Tourist attractions such as Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Khe Sanh, turnedcoastal areas of Moc Bay, Ta Con Airport, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and Provincial Museum attract many visitors.
During this time, Dong Hoi Airport serves 30 flights with about 4,500 passengers. Dong Hoi Station and Dong Ha Station welcomed 40 trains, with more than 4,700 passengers getting on and off the train.
