Dien Bien has 45 communes and wards, but 38 units are particularly disadvantaged
Dien Bien - The Provincial People's Committee has just announced a list of 45 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Cuong has just signed Decision No. 46 approving the list of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, especially disadvantaged villages; ethnic minority and mountainous communes, communes in regions I, II, III for the period 2026-2030 in the province.
According to the Decision, the list of 1,276 villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, 923 villages in special difficulties; 45 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, including: 2 communes in area I, 5 communes in area II, 38 communes in area III in the 2026-2030 period was approved.
Area I includes 2 wards: Dien Bien Phu and Muong Thanh.
Area II includes 5 communes/wards: Thanh Nua, Thanh An, Tuan Giao, Muong Phang, Muong Lay.
Area III includes 38 communes, with a high rate of particularly disadvantaged villages.
