14th Congress replaces 1.6 million pages of paper documents with tablets

On the afternoon of January 14, answering questions from the press about the preparation process for the 14th National Party Congress, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet affirmed that the preparation of draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress is identified as a particularly important political task, which has been implemented very carefully, methodically and scientifically.

The draft documents not only summarize the journey in the past 5 years, but also determine the goals and tasks for the coming term, clearly demonstrating strategic thinking, long-term vision and development orientation of the country until the middle of the 21st century.

The collection of opinions from all classes on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress is a particularly important, widespread, and democratic political activity in the entire Party and people, which has been implemented very seriously and substantially.

In just one month of consultation, nearly 14 million comments were contributed, with nearly 5 million party members and people participating in giving comments.

Basically, the opinions showing political responsibility are very high, high consensus with the contents of the draft documents, highly appreciating the methodical approach of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee. The Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee have seriously grasped the maximum to complete the draft document.

Regarding preparations for the 14th Congress, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Thi Thu Ha affirmed that up to now, the work has been completed on schedule and according to the set requirements, with many new important points.

Regarding the application of information technology in serving the Congress, the Central Party Office has chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies to put into use a document information exploitation system to serve the Congress.

On January 10, the Central Office also distributed 1,586 computers to all official delegates of the Congress. According to calculations, there are about 1,000 pages of documents/de delegate, but all documents are made of paper and are distributed via the tablet system, according to Ms. Ha.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha stated that the calculation shows that about 1.6 million pages of paper documents are replaced with documents on tablets, saving a large amount of resources on paper, printing ink and human resources. Up to now, most delegates have opened tablets and proactively researched documents early.

The Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Party Central Committee Office said that there is also a software application that compiles the opinions of delegates at the Congress and many other software, which is a testament to the spirit of reducing paperwork, saving costs and time thanks to the application of information technology.
