From Glory of Vietnam, patriotism and the desire to contribute will spread strongly

The 22-year journey of Glory of Vietnam is the vivid embodiment of patriotic emulation spirit.

On the morning of July 28, at the 2026 Vietnam Glory Program with the theme "Creating and Contributing", Mr. Pham Gia Tuc - Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister of the Government delivered an important directing speech.

The Standing Deputy Prime Minister expressed his pleasure to attend the 2026 Vietnam Glory Program, with the theme "Creating and Contributing", a socio-political and deeply humane event on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026) - the Festival of the working class and trade unions of Vietnam.

The program is a place where persistent contributions are appreciated, good values are shining and the belief in the strength of Vietnamese people is affirmed.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc warmly congratulated 8 collectives and 5 individuals honored today; respectfully acknowledged and praised the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

According to the Standing Deputy Prime Minister, on the journey of nearly a century of construction and growth, the Vietnam Trade Union organization has always accompanied the nation in every step of development; being both the core force in patriotic emulation movements and a reliable support in caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.

In recent years, before the development requirements of the country, trade union levels have made efforts to innovate the content and methods of operation, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, paying attention to caring for and improving the lives and working conditions of workers with many practical and exciting emulation programs and movements, arousing the intelligence, creativity and sense of responsibility of millions of union members and workers across the country.

Implementing the call of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the heroic spirit "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism must be emulation" of the entire nation converged like a revolutionary waterfall, bringing the Vietnamese nation through countless difficulties and challenges, going from one victory to another.

And today, here, the bravery, intelligence, will and persistent contributions of typical Vietnamese people once again converge and crystallize to create Vietnamese Glory together.

Each collective, each individual has a different journey, a different field of activity and a different way of contributing, but they meet at the common intersection of patriotism, sense of responsibility, aspiration to rise up and persistence in pursuing values beneficial to the community.

There are contributions measured by works, products, and initiatives; but there are also silent contributions nurtured over the years by intelligence, bravery, dedication and spirit of service, to create daily changes in life, solid progress of the community and increasingly strong development of the country. In any form, the depth and persistence of contribution have created the value of each honored example.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc said that the 22-year journey of Vinh quang Vietnam is a vivid embodiment of patriotic emulation spirit, a noble proof of Vietnam's will and aspirations, and a source of inspiration for many creative ideas.

The precious value of the program is not only in the moment hundreds of typical individuals and collectives are praised on stage, but also in bringing true stories, good deeds and in-depth contributions to the public, to the People, so that the spirit of responsibility and aspiration to contribute is transmitted from person to person, from generation to generation.

Through these examples, we see more clearly the strength of the nation created not only from major policies, but also from millions of people with specific and responsible actions; from people who know how to put common interests above private interests and collectives who know how to turn difficulties into motivation, turn knowledge into value, turn aspirations into results to serve the People.

I acknowledge, highly appreciate and commend the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Lao Dong Newspaper, and coordinating agencies for organizing the Program well over the past 22 years; affirming that labor is joy, source of life, and happiness, so in any industry, field, role, it is still the source of creativity, development and social progress; each achievement of the country has the imprint of people, of the collective and of days of serious and dedicated work," Mr. Pham Gia Tuc affirmed.

Glory belongs not only to the moment of being named, but to a journey of living with ideals.

According to the Standing Deputy Prime Minister, entering a new stage of development, to realize the goals of rapid and sustainable national development, we need to strongly awaken human resources, promote patriotism, self-reliance, national pride, innovation capacity and aspiration to contribute in the whole society.

The emulation movement must go into substance, associated with specific tasks and products, taking the effectiveness of work, the interests of the People and the progress of the community as a measure and striving to achieve the goals of 100 years of Party establishment and 100 years of national establishment.

From that spirit, he proposed that Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, ministries, branches and localities pay more attention to the work of discovering, fostering, summarizing and replicating advanced examples.

The search for new factors must be carried out regularly, from the grassroots level, in the practice of labor, work and combat; more attention must be directed to workers, direct laborers, grassroots officials, people working in difficult areas and collectives and individuals who silently contribute but do not have the conditions to be widely known.

It is necessary to promptly recognize the new when it is just formed, support the good so that the good has more conditions to develop, and not let worthy contributions be forgotten or not recognized in time.

Ministries, branches, localities, agencies, and units need to strengthen the organization of practical honoring and commending activities, suitable to the characteristics of each field; considering this as an important method to educate, encourage and gather social strength.

Along with honoring, it is necessary to build a mechanism for typical examples to connect, share experiences, continue to contribute and inspire, thereby forming positive nuclei in each community.

On this occasion, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister requested the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to urgently issue an action program and specific plans to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2026-2031 term, focusing on movements and programs such as the new emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income", the Trade Union Program accompanying the Government to improve labor productivity, implement the goal of double-digit growth, the Project to improve the effectiveness of dialogue, collective bargaining and building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in the 2026-2031 period and digital transformation in trade union activities.

The Government thanks the important contributions of the working class and laborers in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland in the past time. The Government and the Prime Minister are committed to always accompanying, caring for, and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnam Trade Union to perform its assigned tasks well.

The Standing Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the collectives and individuals honored today will continue to maintain their qualities, constantly be creative, progressive and contribute; considering this recognition both as an honor and a responsibility to the community.

A mirror only truly has long-lasting vitality when its light helps others see the path to move forward together; a achievement is only truly complete when more good deeds, more initiatives and more useful people for the country arise from that achievement.

The glory of a nation is not only made by the miracles of the country, but also nurtured by the aspirations, talents, efforts and imprints of each person. Glory belongs not only to the moment of being named, but to a journey of living with ideals, working responsibly and constantly contributing. The country always cherishes and society always needs more and more collectives and individuals like that.

I believe that, from today's Glorious Vietnam Program, the spirit of patriotic emulation, pride and aspiration to serve will continue to spread strongly; like a bright star, urging and guiding each cadre, party member, soldier, trade union member, worker, laborer and each citizen to strive harder in their daily work, together contributing to building a prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
