Glory of Vietnam 2026 - spreading the true values of labor

The 2026 Glory of Vietnam program with the theme "Creating and Contributing" (program) is organized at the Army Radio and Television Center, Hanoi.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour delivered the opening speech of the program.

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan said that on this day, 97 years ago, the Red Trade Union organization (the predecessor of the Vietnam Trade Union) was established, marking a new step in the development of the Vietnamese workers' movement.

Over 97 years of construction and growth, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam Trade Union has always been closely associated with the working class, accompanying the nation in the struggle for independence, national reunification, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

Entering the renovation period, generations of officials and trade union members always promote the pioneering spirit and bright nature of the Vietnamese working class, strive to emulate in labor production, overcome difficulties, and leave their mark in many fields with many projects, products and achievements of great significance, making important and direct contributions to the cause of building and developing the country.

The Trade Union organization constantly innovates and creates in its activities, focusing on performing well the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, contributing to building a modern and strong working class, consolidating the great national unity bloc.

Vinh quang Việt Nam, after 22 times of organization, has affirmed its influence, with deep spread and the belief of society. What makes the program's long-lasting vitality is not only the noble titles, but also the ability to find in life true stories, true examples of labor, intelligence, courage, spirit of responsibility, will, energy and silent sacrifices.

The program has spread those stories and examples to the public to ignite the flame of faith, in any position, everyone can shine, creating useful contribution values for society and the country.

To select typical examples for 2026, the VGCL has requested departments, ministries, branches, localities, trade union levels and media and press agencies to introduce typical factors; assigning Lao Dong Newspaper, the standing agency of the Program, to receive dossiers, review, and verify achievements.

With 53 nominations, the Selection Council carefully discussed based on actual achievements, depth of contribution, sustainability and spillover effect, thereby selecting 8 typical and outstanding collectives and 5 individuals to be honored in today's Program.

What moves us is not only the scale and depth of achievements of collectives and individuals, but also the sacrifices, concerns, and hardships to achieve those achievements. Achievements are not spontaneous, not natural, they are the result of years of perseverance in the research room, on the production line, at the hospital, school, in the fields, including silent sacrifices and contributions. Behind each typical example honored today is a collective that knows how to share, colleagues who shoulder the burden together, a family that is a solid rear, ordinary workers who have contributed every working day, every idea and every part of responsibility to crystallize into common values" - Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said.

According to the President of the VGCL, for the Trade Union organization, the typical examples honored are not only examples to honor and admire but also vivid orientations for innovating the organization of emulation movements among union members and workers. Emulation must start from the needs of the grassroots, from the issues that workers are directly concerned about, associated with the tasks and development requirements of each agency, unit, and enterprise; emulation achievements must be specifically affirmed by higher productivity, higher quality products and services, safer jobs, higher incomes, and better and better lives for workers.

Immediately after the 14th Congress, the Vietnam Trade Union launched the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income", thereby arousing the spirit of creativity, self-reliance, self-strengthening and responsibility of workers, creating motivation to improve productivity, improve income, welfare and working conditions, ensuring harmony of interests between the State, businesses and workers, contributing to realizing the goal of double-digit growth.

Through launching and organizing emulation movements, the Trade Union organization contributes to building and connecting the aspirations of each worker, of the collective of workers with the aspirations of the country's development.

When workers master new skills, when an initiative is put into production, when productivity increases along with better welfare, when labor relations are built through dialogue and sharing, then there the role of the Trade Union is shown by specific, close and persuasive results.

VGCL President Nguyen Anh Tuan wished and believed that the 13 collectives and individuals honored today would continue to maintain the fire of creativity and service spirit, share experiences, support and support colleagues, especially young people, helping the spirit of innovation, good models, and good practices to be constantly spread and replicated.

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan believes that Vinh Quang Vietnam will continue to be a place where the true values of labor and contribution are recognized, respected and supported, so that from today's 13 typical examples and through hundreds of typical examples honored by the Program, there will be more and more initiatives, many good deeds, many new examples in social life, contributing to fostering trust, arousing self-reliance, self-strengthening, aspiration to contribute, and the spirit of innovation and creativity in each union member and worker.
