Vinh Long Trade Union expresses gratitude to officials, awards Labor Medals to 3 former leaders

On July 28, the Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) held a meeting to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026), reviewing the glorious tradition, expressing gratitude to generations of trade union officials and recognizing outstanding results after a year of merger.

Attending the program were Mr. Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of the province, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation; along with former trade union leaders through periods, leaders of departments, agencies, branches and trade unions at all levels.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - emphasized that for 97 years, the Vietnam Trade Union has always accompanied the development of the country, affirming its role as a representative, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; is a bridge between the Party and the working class.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh, after a year of merging the trade union organization of 3 provinces Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, the new Vinh Long provincial trade union levels have overcome many difficulties, innovated operating methods, effectively implemented programs to care for and develop more than 34,000 new union members, established 65 grassroots trade unions and promoted the application of digital technology in communication work.

The highlight of the program is the announcement of the President's Decision to award the Second-class Labor Medal to Mr. Tran Van Trach - former Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, Ms. Le Thi Hong Dao - former Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, Mr. Huynh Van Tan - former Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial Labor Federation (now Vinh Long province) and recognition of outstanding achievements in the process of working and contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation expressed gratitude to generations of trade union officials; presented gifts to union members who are wounded soldiers, children of wounded soldiers, children of martyrs and awarded prizes for the video clip creation contest "Short clips on social networking platforms" in 2026.
