Having worked for many years at the Mechanical Group, Tien Sa Port Enterprise, Mr. Vo Tan Luong still does not have a private house for his small family. His wife is unemployed, Mr. Luong goes to work alone to take care of his wife and 3 young children. The family is still living with his parents. With the income of one person having to bear the living expenses for the whole family, the desire to have a private house is not easy to achieve.

Mr. Luong's difficulties have been grasped by the Da Nang Port Trade Union. Recently, he was one of the union members who was given a partial financial support by the Da Nang Port Trade Union to build a Trade Union Warm House. For Mr. Luong, this support not only helps his family get closer to the desire for a stable place to live, but is also a source of encouragement for him to feel secure in working and continue to stick with the unit. "What I hope most is to have a house so that my wife and children can have a stable place to live. Working alone to support the whole family, so if there is no support, it is very difficult to build a house. Being cared for and supported by the Trade Union at this time is a great motivation for my family," Mr. Luong shared.

The case of Mr. Vo Tan Luong is one of many care activities implemented by the Da Nang Port Trade Union in the past time. In the first 6 months of 2026, the Trade Union Shelter Fund was used to support 3 cases of building new houses and one case of repairing houses, with a total support level of 55 million VND. Of course, caring for workers at Da Nang Port does not stop at housing support. During the Lunar New Year, the Trade Union advised the General Director to support 42 workers in difficult circumstances of Tien Sa Port Enterprise, 5 million VND each, with a total budget of 210 million VND.

A noteworthy point in the activities of the Da Nang Port Trade Union is that care work is implemented quite diversely, according to each target group and specific circumstances. Not only supporting union members in difficult circumstances, the Trade Union also visits workers who have had labor accidents, shares with families with deceased relatives, supports the construction and repair of houses, cares for workers' children as well as organizes cultural, sports, and resort activities to improve spiritual life.

Care is also not only temporary. For cases that need long-term support, the Trade Union proactively maintains policies even when the program of the superiors has changed. Typically, continuing to provide monthly support for children of officials and employees with congenital disabilities. This shows that welfare activities are designed according to the actual needs of workers, instead of only focusing on holidays, Tet or Workers' Month.

In particular, care is also expanded to workers' families. On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1st, the Trade Union and units presented 930 gifts to children of officials and employees. Cultural and sports activities are organized regularly, from football, tennis to pickleball. The Da Nang Port Family Pickleball Tournament has 17 pairs of athletes who are husband and wife, parents - children participating together, bringing trade union activities closer to each family.

Taking people as the foundation for development

According to Mr. Le Tan Minh - Chairman of Da Nang Port Trade Union, the care for workers at enterprises is built on the foundation of welfare policies that have been maintained for many years. In addition to regulations, Da Nang Port maintains and gradually improves many welfare benefits such as life insurance, high-end health insurance, and resort programs for workers. "Da Nang Port's consistent viewpoint is that people are the foundation of development. Therefore, along with investing in production and services, enterprises always allocate resources to develop people and improve the lives of workers," said Mr. Le Tan Minh.

This philosophy is first of all expressed in ensuring jobs and income - the most essential issues for workers. According to Mr. Le Tan Minh, Da Nang Port currently has 788 workers. In the first 6 months of 2026, the average income of workers reached 33.287 million VND/person/month, an increase of nearly 12% compared to 29,737 million VND/person/month in the previous year. The average income of more than 33 million VND per month is a very meaningful figure, showing the important foundation of businesses in maintaining jobs, creating stable income so that each person can take care of their own life and family. For workers who are the main source of income for the whole family like Mr. Vo Tan Luong, this is even more practical when behind the monthly salary is the life of his wife and 3 young children.

Taking care of, creating welfare, and good salaries and bonuses for workers over many years is also one of the foundations for Da Nang Port to be recognized in the program "Exemplary Enterprise for Workers". Da Nang Port has been honored as "Exemplary Enterprise for Workers" for 8 consecutive years.

According to Mr. Le Tan Minh, being present in the program's "Businesses for Employees" Ranking for 8 consecutive years is not simply to have another title or pride for the business. More importantly, through the evaluation criteria, businesses have more opportunities to review policies for employees, continue to improve the working environment and welfare regimes.
