An Giang takes practical care of union members and workers, strongly focusing on grassroots levels

On October 12, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation organized a conference to summarize the Trade Union activities in the first 9 months of 2026.

According to the Provincial Labor Federation, in the first 9 months of 2026, the province's production, business, trade, service, tourism and investment attraction activities were maintained, creating more jobs and income for workers (NLĐ).

The Trade Union continues to carry out the work of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. Deploying the Program to implement breakthroughs in representing and protecting the rights of union members and workers, promoting dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements for the period 2026 - 2030.

The work of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers is deployed regularly, practically, and strongly towards grassroots levels. The Provincial Labor Federation signed a program for union member welfare to support union members to access products and services at preferential prices; Signed a plan to coordinate with CEP Microfinance Organization, Long Xuyen branch to support union members to access preferential loans.

Grassroots trade unions maintained rotational capital contribution without interest, signed credit guarantees to borrow bank loans with an amount of over 7.8 billion VND. Implemented a plan to consolidate and improve the quality of operations, established 2 new self-managed workers' boarding houses, and organized the program "Coming to workers' boarding houses" with nearly 300 union members and workers participating.

As of September 30, 2026, the whole province has 659 grassroots trade unions and trade unions, with 120,743 union members/ 125,682 employees. In the first 9 months of 2026, 83 new grassroots trade unions and trade unions were established. Accumulated new development of 17,338 union members.

Through the launch of the patriotic emulation movement, 70 grassroots trade unions registered to implement projects and products, resulting in a value of 12 billion VND in profit. 18 individuals who are trade union officials and members were awarded Creative Labor Certificates by the General Confederation.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh said that besides the achieved results, there are still some limitations in the development of union members, revenue targets, union dues...

In the last 3 months of the year, Mr. Do Tran Thinh suggested that trade unions at two levels need to focus on grasping the labor situation, determined to develop more union members to meet the assigned targets. Consolidate and build strong grassroots trade unions, especially in non-state economic sector enterprises. Organize good activities to represent and protect legitimate rights and interests, take care of union members and workers, focusing on organizing the Tet reunion program in 2027. Each level of trade union needs to pay attention to applying existing utility software to build its own visual and vivid propaganda toolkit in cyberspace, increasing the effectiveness in propaganda, approaching, and quickly conveying the content of Trade Union activities to union members and workers.
