The General Secretary hopes that the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea will continue to support the Vietnamese community
Receiving Chairman of the Korea - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, General Secretary To Lam expressed his hope that the Korean National Assembly will continue to support the Vietnamese community.
According to VNA, on the afternoon of August 10, in the capital Seoul of South Korea, within the framework of his State visit to South Korea, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Ahn Gyu Back, Chairman of the South Korea - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam congratulated Mr. Ahn Gyu Back on his appointment as Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea; believed that with his new responsibility and as Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Parliamentarians Group, Mr. Ahn Gyu Back will continue to make more contributions to promoting the increasingly substantial and effective development of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The General Secretary shared that on its development path, Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with countries, including South Korea, one of Vietnam's leading important strategic partners.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two groups of friends of the Parliament should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, promote the role of a bridge in the spirit of the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies, contribute to supervising, urging, and creating favorable legal conditions for the implementation of agreements and agreements signed between the two countries, promoting the Vietnam - Korea cooperation relationship to become increasingly in-depth, effective and sustainable; at the same time, strengthen coordination and mutual support at regional and world inter-parliamentary forums.
The General Secretary sincerely thanked and wished that the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea would continue to support the common activities of the Vietnamese community in Korea.
Chairman of the Korea - Vietnam Parliamentarians' Friendship Group Ahn Gyu Back expressed his honor and sincerely thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to meet; expressed his admiration for the country and people of Vietnam and General Vo Nguyen Giap; and emphasized that the two sides need to further strengthen the Korea - Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the context of the two countries entering a new stage of development.
The Chairman of the Korea - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group affirmed that the National Assembly of Korea and the Korea - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group are ready to accompany Vietnamese partners in implementing development goals in the new era; pledged to closely coordinate to promote cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies, including exchanges between the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups, contributing to the common development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Mr. Ahn Gyu Back affirmed that Korea will support Vietnamese students staying in Korea.
Based on the remarkable development of relations over the past 30 years as well as cultural similarities, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen relations in various fields, including politics - diplomacy, defense - security, culture, sports and turning science - technology into a pillar of cooperation.
