Strengthening international cooperation to improve the quality of medicine

Today (March 13), Hanoi Medical University held a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding with SingHealth, Y Duke University - NUS and SingHealth Duke - NUS Global Health Institute (Singapore) and an inter-school workshop on global health.

The signing ceremony and workshop were attended by Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Principal of Hanoi Medical University; Prof. Ivy Ng Swee Lian, Senior Consultant, SingHealth, Singapore... with leaders, scientists, lecturers, and students of the school.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi Medical University, SingHealth, Y Duke University - NUS and SingHealth Duke - NUS Global Health Institute marked an important step forward in the cooperation between the two sides, aiming at the development of training programs, medical research, and professional exchanges in the field of public health and clinical fields such as dental - maxillofacial, nursing.

In addition to the signing ceremony, the inter-school workshop also created opportunities for scholars, researchers, lecturers, and students of the two units to discuss and share experiences in important medical fields.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Principal of Hanoi Medical University, in recent years, Hanoi Medical University has had many cooperation with Singapore's health organizations, the cooperation activities have brought practical benefits to the school's teaching staff and students.

Todays interdisciplinary workshop on global health is an important step forward in creating an annual scientific forum for scientists, health experts from the two units, as well as scientists from SingHealth Duke - NUS, Duke University (USA) and Duke Kunshan University (China) and Vietnamese scientists to share valuable knowledge and experience and exchange research cooperation initiatives in the future.

The school has had and is having breakthrough development orientations in science and technology to continue to affirm its leading position in the country and in the region, Professor Nguyen Huu Tu shared.

Speaking in the program, Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang also affirmed that the Ministry of Health is committed to continuing to support and create favorable conditions for international cooperation in scientific research on the transfer of medical technology to develop more and more, bringing practical benefits to the health system and health care for Vietnamese and global people".

Also within the framework of the event, SingHealth Duke Global Health Institute - NUS announced the establishment of SingHealth's Regional Cooperation Office (RCO) at Hanoi Medical University.
