Mong Cai - Dong Hung cooperate to build smart border gates

The talks took place in Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh, Vietnam) to promote friendly cooperation in many fields.

The two sides agreed to promote a number of important contents, including: Building a Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) Smart Border Gate; Industrial cooperation in Hai Yen Industrial Park and Van Ninh International Port (Mong Cai); Promoting the construction of an e-commerce industrial park across the border.

Along with that is the connection of traffic between the two cities with key projects such as the Mong Cai - Dong Hung international railway line, Bac Luan III bridge, auxiliary crude steel bridge; Strengthening cross-border tourism cooperation with models such as self-driving vehicles, day tourism, bicycles across the border, expanding the scale of the Lunar New Year Friendship Football Tournament; Preparing to organize activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between the two cities (October 20, 2015 - October 20, 2025).

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of Dong Hung City surveyed Hai Yen Industrial Park, Van Ninh International Port, the area planned to build Bac Luan III bridge and the agricultural and food laboratory (CCIC) at Bac Luan II Border Gate.

The Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee and the Mayor of Dong Hung City signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation mechanisms for research and construction of smart border gates, creating a premise to promote the implementation of the Mong Cai - Dong Hung international border gate pair to become a modern and advanced model.

This meeting program aims to concretize the content of the 2025 Spring Meeting Program between the Provincial/regional Secretaries and the 16th Conference of the Joint Working Committee between the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), in order to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.

In recent years, Mong Cai City has continuously consolidated and developed foreign relations with localities in Guangxi (China), achieving many practical achievements.

Mong Cai is the only district-level locality in Vietnam and the world to be honored to receive the "Outstanding partner of a friendly city for China" award voted by the China Friendship Association. This is a testament to trust and strategic cooperation, opening up many sustainable development opportunities in the coming time.
