PVN Chairman Le Manh Hung holds the position of Acting Minister of Industry and Trade

On December 22, the Government Portal reported that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2768/QD-TTg dated December 20, 2025 to transfer Mr. Le Manh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Members of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group to work at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, assigning the Acting Minister of Industry and Trade.

Mr. Le Manh Hung was born on October 24, 1973; hometown Hung Yen. Education and professional qualifications: Petrochemical Organic Technology Engineer, PhD in Petrochemistry; Senior Political Theory.

Before being assigned as Acting Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Le Manh Hung held many important positions at the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (now the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group) such as: Deputy General Director of PVN, General Director of PVN, Chairman of PVN Board of Members and leadership positions at subsidiaries.

Previously, on December 21, the National Assembly Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work for Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien.

The Politburo decided that Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Government Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade - would cease to hold the position of Member of the Government Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Mobilize, assign and appoint to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of full-time Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has 4 deputy ministers: Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Phan Thi Thang, Truong Thanh Hoai, Nguyen Hoang Long.

The working process of Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung:

Since 2000, Mr. Le Manh Hung has been a technology engineer at the joint venture of Viet Nga Oil Refinery; Oil and Gas Chemical reaction and bored wastewater Corporation (DMC); Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation.

In 2006, Mr. Le Manh Hung was transferred to the Government Office as an officer of the Petroleum Department. In 2007, Mr. Le Manh Hung returned to PVN as Deputy Head of the Oil and Gas Processing Department.

In 2009, Mr. Le Manh Hung was elected Deputy General Director of Long Son Petrochemical Joint Venture Company, Head of the Ca Mau Pump Gas Complex Project Management Board.

In March 2011, Mr. Le Manh Hung was elected General Director of Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer One Member Limited Liability Company, now Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC).

From 2013-2019, Mr. Le Manh Hung was appointed Deputy General Director of PVN.

From June 26, 2019, Mr. Le Manh Hung was appointed General Director of PVN.

In Decision 1168/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Le Manh Hung, member of the Board of Members, General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. The term of appointment is 5 years. The decision takes effect from January 1, 2024.

On December 21, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the decision to transfer Mr. Le Manh Hung to work at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, assigning the authority of the Minister of Industry and Trade.
