Dong Thap Trade Union takes care of more than 50,000 union members and workers

On the afternoon of October 7th, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a conference to summarize the workers' movement and trade union activities in the third quarter, deploying directions and tasks for the fourth quarter of 2026 in direct and online forms. Attending the conference were Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial LĐLĐ and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial LĐLĐ and 130 delegates who are members of the Provincial LĐLĐ Executive Committee, Commune and Ward Trade Unions...

The report of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation shows that in the third quarter, trade union levels visited and cared for 50,653 union members, workers, and laborers, with a total budget of 11.65 billion VND; mutual assistance, capital support, and unsecured loan support for 250 cases, with an amount of more than 7.22 billion VND. The work of protecting workers' rights is focused on. Trade union levels provided legal advice to 365 turns of union members and laborers, bringing the total number from the beginning of the year to 3,162 turns.

Notably, the Trade Union coordinated with functional agencies to support 26 employees at Chau Au Joint Stock Company to resolve the enterprise's late payment of social insurance. To date, 18 people have paid the full amount of social insurance debt; 2 cases were committed by the enterprise to be completed in October and November 2026.

Dialogue and care activities at the grassroots level continue to be promoted. There are 706 commune and ward trade unions, grassroots trade unions organizing "Month of listening to union members and workers speak", attracting 129,183 people; 79 grassroots trade unions organizing "Trade Union Meals" for more than 46,000 union members and workers.

The creative labor movement recorded 220 initiatives and solutions in the quarter, saving more than 1.5 billion VND. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has had 6,050 initiatives applied, making a profit of more than 7.5 billion VND.

In the quarter, Dong Thap Trade Union established 35 new grassroots trade unions and professional unions, developing 11,358 union members. To date, the whole province has 796 grassroots trade unions and professional unions with 217,381 union members. Women's work also has new points when 10 "Pregnant Women and Nursing Clubs" were established, attracting 816 members, contributing to supporting female workers in pregnancy health care and raising young children.
