Ho Chi Minh City - Many trade union officials said they will proactively request businesses to give Tet bonuses early so that workers are more proactive in spending during Tet.
Mr. Truong Thanh Tam, a worker at Printing Joint Stock Company No. 7, Tan Tao Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City, said that usually it is the beginning of January every year that the company gives Tet bonuses to workers. If Tet bonuses are given early in November or December, it will help workers buy cheaper goods compared to near the Lunar New Year.
Usually, prices near Tet will be more expensive than before. Furthermore, if we have Tet bonuses early, we will be more proactive in Tet shopping or planning to return to our hometown to celebrate Tet with our families," Mr. Tam shared.
Mr. Truong Hoang Tam - Chairman of the Trade Union of Printing Joint Stock Company No. 7 - said that usually after December 31st, the enterprise closes books and summarizes the production and business plan of the year before planning Tet bonuses for employees.
At our company, there will be a New Year's bonus with a fixed amount and it will be rewarded to employees before December 31st. From the New Year to the Lunar New Year, there will be bonuses for employees, and payment of the 13th month salary. This year, the company's trade union will proactively propose that the business consider having an early Tet bonus plan for employees so that employees can be more proactive in spending during Tet," Mr. Tam said.
