Currently, pensions and social insurance allowances are mainly paid by transferring money to personal accounts or receiving cash. With the form of transfer, many localities implement payments right from the first days of the month.

21 provinces and cities implemented payments on the first working day of the month, including Son La, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Hue, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Ca Mau and An Giang.

13 provinces and cities implement payment on the 2nd day of each month, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai and Dong Thap.

For cash recipients, local social insurance coordinates with the post office to organize payment according to the agreed monthly schedule.

More ways to receive pensions via VNeID

From September 28, 2026, pension and social insurance allowance recipients will have an additional method of receiving money through an integrated social security benefit account on the VNeID application.

According to new regulations, from September 28, beneficiaries can register for social security benefits accounts on VNeID and link with a payment account, e-wallet or official mobile money account to receive pensions, allowances and social security benefits.

Note that the money is not in the VNeID application but is transferred directly to the account or payment method that the beneficiary has linked.

People who have not registered for social security benefits on VNeID can still receive pensions and allowances in current forms. Benefits of beneficiaries are not interrupted.
