Long Thanh airport approaches the milestone of having 2 runways 4km long

On July 26, according to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), package No. 4.12, construction and installation of equipment for the 2nd runway, taxiway and other synchronous works, the value of implemented volume has now reached about 59.38% compared to the contract value.

Regarding the implementation progress, for runways, 100% of the runway structure has been completed, surface drainage ditch cutting has reached 75.5%, and M150/25 roadside cement concrete has reached 62.2%.

For the rolling stock item, 100% of the 150/25 cement concrete structure and the 350/45 cement concrete structure have been completed, reaching 82.6%.

The service road item has also completed 100% of excavation, pavement and foundation filling, and crushed stone base structure construction reaching 72.5%.

According to the current implementation progress, it is expected to complete the cement concrete work before August 15, 2026 and complete all items of the package before September 30, 2026.

Package 4.12 - 2nd runway, taxiway and other synchronous works were started on May 30, 2025, constructed by the ACC - Truong Son - Vinaconex - Vinadic - ACJC647-Khanh Thien-VTG consortium, with a contract value of 2,570 billion VND.

The second runway is 4 km long and 75 m wide.

Previously, at the end of April 2025, the first runway of Long Thanh airport phase 1 had completed construction and technical operation, exceeding the schedule by 3 months.

According to the schedule, the Long Thanh airport project will be put into operation by the end of 2026.
